I still had that dream from last year...still hasn't happened - probably never will, the odds for two teams to make it is just so slim.
fuck the giants. and this thread. its not even week 4. of course you can dream though, i always dream about the jets beating the giants in the sb, either that or the eagles, or the cowboys. nfc teams i hate, but id love to rub it in giants fans faces. dream is the key word, you can dream for now. if both teams finish 13-3 then you can start fantasizing.
If i'm gonna dream it's gonna be about a a JETS/VIKINGS Superbowl. I dream of Favre dropping back to pass and Scott comes straight up the gut and knocks that motherfucker back into retirement! Oh, and Halle Berry and Megan Fox are dressed as french maids taking turns filling my beer mug.
It stupid to say you cant think about it yet cause its to early. Think about it when ever you want, that is the goal of this whole thing after all. To assume it is happening after playing three games is also stupid. The moral , think and hope for it, but dont assume its going to happen.
The last time people in NY started dreaming about a Giants-Jets SB was after week 11 last year...you see how that went.
you folks gotta be kidding with this thread.... i am still scarred from the 86 season when both teams looked like they had a shot in week 11...... most of us know what happened after that so no need to explain. jil
Please...NOT The Giants ! Watching the Jets for the last 39 years, most of us should know that a good start has lead to heartbreak. Hypothetically speaking, if the Jets were to have one of those Magical years and make it to the Super Bowl, the last team I'd want to play is the Giants. And NO, it's not because they scare me. It's because they've been to 4 and have won 3 of them In my lifetime, the Jets have been to ZERO. I would not want to share a Jets Super Bowl day with the Giants. We've waited too long to share the day with a local team. I want the backpages to be all NY Jets. I want the talk radio to be all Gang Green. I want the TV news to be all about OUR team. I would be SICK to my stomach to have to share the day that I've been waiting for my entire life with that team I loathe that we share a stadium with. And, would would ever happen if we were to lose the game to the Giants? They'd be celebrating their 4th Championship and we'd have our drought extended. The worst day in my sports life was watching the Giants beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl. Losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl would be 100X worse if it were to ever happen. Again, 3 wins to start a season does not a Super Bowl make, but if, by chance, we finally have that year we've all been waiting for, PLEASE let it be against any other team than the Giants so we could have our 2 weeks of glory leading up to the game and not have to share it with anyone !
KHBirdMan said "The worst day in my sports life was watching the Giants beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl." I was exactly the opposite, that game was about the only time I can remember rooting for the Giants. Guess I hate the Pats more than I hate the Giants.
I don't think I've ever dreamed about a NJY/NJG SuperBowl, my dreams tend towards more earthy pleasures. That said, it's never too early to dream, just don't let it turn intoa nightmare when they loose a couple games.
Same here, I've never cheered louder for a team I didn't like than in that game. I think most Jets fans feel the same.
+1 Last year this was talked about when the Jets were 8-3 and the Giants 10-1. Both teams were dominant and the lives of those living in the Big Apple were nothing short of lovely. Then the Jets lost a string of easy games to end the season. The surplus of talent they had could not save them from one of the most sickening collapses in recent team-history. It culminated with the decision of losing to the Pennington-lead Dolphins, and thus crowning them division champs and earning a playoff berth, or winning the game and all but assuring New England the aforementioned playoff spot. And Jets' Nation wept. The Giants' collapse was no better. Painful loses to bitter division rivals and an obviously uncomfortable QB and lackluster WR corps gave many fans pose about their postseason hopes. A clutch win against Carolina eased those fears...fears that were then realized tenfold when the HATED Eagles came into the Giants' home and ripped their hearts in a nauseating playoff lose. And Giant's Nation wept. What say we not make predictions like this, especially 3 WEEKS INTO THE BLEEPING SEASON!!
