    OFFENSE: C+

Mark Sanchez looked good early, running for a 14-yard touchdown and tossing a 2-yard TD to tight end Ben Hartsock in the first quarter. But the offense just never really got things in gear until late, aided by a key Titans? third-quarter turnover. Their rushing attack had only 83 yards. The ?O? was also victimized by a couple of turnovers, both by Sanchez. Still, they made the necessary plays when they had to.

    DEFENSE: B

Although it surrendered its first TD of the season when running back LenDale White plowed in from 5 yards out, and allowed the Titans to rattle off 17 straight points, the defense stiffened when it counted. They shut the Titans out for the final 18:16 and kept getting big third-down stops.

    SPECIAL TEAMS: B+

This unit produced two turnovers and the Jets scored TDs on both. Jason Trusnik?s big hit on Ryan Mouton that caused a fumble and Trusnik?s subsequent fumble recovery set the tone early and Larry Izzo recovered a third-quarter muffed punt by Mouton while Brad Smith kept Mouton pinned to the turf, and Izzo?s recovery set up the go-ahead score. Only negatives: Steve Weatherford averaged 40 yards overall on his nine punts, and Jay Feely?s kickoff to start the second half bounced out of bounds, handing the Titans the ball at the Jets? 40 and they ended up scoring a TD.

    COACHING: B+

The Jets drew up a somewhat effective gameplan to keep Chris Johnson from running wild. They didn?t blitz as much and played a gap-assignment style to keep him under wraps. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer?s call on second-and-goal from the Titans? 2 was also a brilliant one. The Jets went with offensive lineman Wayne Hunter and Robert Turner as tackle eligibles, making it seem like a running play. But Ben Hartsock, mostly a blocker at tight end, snuck into the end zone on Sanchez?s play action and easily snagged the TD pass.

    A little harsh.

    I'd go with:
    Offense B+
    Defense B
    Special Teams A+
    Coaching B+

Agreed, at first I saw the B+ and was like WHOA?!, but then they mentioned the OB kick and that was kind of a biggie.

    ^ never that simple..

Offense gets a B- for Cotch's big play and the goaline plays.
Defense gets B+ for owning the 4th quarter.
ST gets a B+ because of the OB kick.
Coaching gets A-, due to the 4th quarter adjustment.
