Miami built a playoff run last year because they got to face the pathetic AFC and NFC West. The Patriots almost made the playoffs with Cassel with practically the same schedule. We see how good Cassel is this year and what's even funnier is that he's IN the AFC West now. Miami starts 0-3 and now loses Chad for the year. Gonna be a long year.
They beat who they had to beat. we had basically the same sched w/ a more talented team and we finished 2 games behind them.
Except we had an inept coach with an inept DC, as well as a QB who shit the bed once he tore his bicep. Since then, we've upgraded the talent on the field, on the sidelines, and we have QB who is managing the game. Miami hasn't done that. They weren't going anywhere; before Chad was injured they were about to start 0-3 anyway.
An inept coach that led us to 10 wins 2 years earlier. We can blame it on a million different things but the facts are we had more talent and played a similar sched and finished 2 games behind Miami
Miami did what they had to do to earn the division title, but anyone that didn't see them for what there were was blinded by something. Every starting QB in the division was injured, they had the easiest schedule in the division because of no west coast trips, and they won a lot of very close games against average at best teams. A lot of Dolphins fans were thinking AFC Championship this year because they were drinking the kool-aid. Time for some black coffee to wake you up.
Wow... The fact is, Mangini and an injured Favre cost us our season. If you haven't picked up on that by now - especially after what our own players have said about Mangini and their love of this new coach - then I don't know what to tell you. edit: and just because he was competent two years ago - something completely irrelevant to the present time - doesn't mean he was competent last year. Ever hear of regression?
I buy the Brady excuse but not the favre one. Favre was supposedly hurt long before he started tanking it. Was Miami a great team lat year?? Of course not but they were good and they did what they needed to do to win the division. The WC teams we played last year stunk, outside of SD we were the only eastern team having problems visiting Oakland, SF and Seattle. We played very similar scheds, Miami took care of business. I don't think any non-Dolphin fans were fooled into thinking that team could be a legit contender this year but that doesn't take away from what they did last year.
I don't care what excuses the players give us. The main reasons we lost were Favre stunk and Jenkins was ineffective down the stretch. favre fades every year, how is that the fault of coaching? I have bought into rex too but go back and read article when bruce Coslet took over then when pete Carrol took over or when Herm took over or even when Mangini took over. Players always will blame the previous coach b/c it's easy to do w/ that coach gone. I love this team so far but we still have a long way to go.
I don't care about Cleveland, I care about the Jets and I have seen this movie too many times before. I believe this one will have a happy ending but until I see it I won't be convinced.
their OL looks like its deteriorating mighty fast. and teams are keying in on Ben cause there appears to be no ground game in Pitt for the first time in a LONG time.
Oh here we go... all of the sudden everything else is irrelevant because that suits yer argument. Mangini lost our players last year. He's rapidly losing - if not already lost - his players in Cleveland this year. It matters and you should care because yer the one that's saying he's not inept. And I'm pointing out how he is.
The shit that gets me is that they were calling for Henne from week 1... if they didn't have Pennington on their team last season they would have been just as bad as the year before that. You have to see some of the topics on the dolphins boards wishing for a Pennington injury so that they can see what their future is with Henne.
