Yeah, if this deal doesn't get done and we wind up losing him I am gonna be really upset at the Jets FO. This guy has done nothing to not deserve a contract extension.

they offered him 5 million which is plenty fair, worse comes to worse u franchise him in february and pay him 6.5 million next yr and work out an extension then

i think if leon holds out till the end of the season he's going to be sorely disappointed.

Leon has never started and he's reportedly been offered $5mil a year. I don't think it's the Jets this time. I think it's his agent. This issue has been discussed over and over again. Do a little research.

At this point you can't make a valid argument that he his better then Reggie Bush.

peterson is on his rookie contract. yeah, they get a lotta guaranteed money but in terms of their salary per year, 6 million is not that much for a really good running back, is it?

 

Yeah, I would really be surprised if Leon doesn't turn out to be a Gang Green Lifer. It is not like the sides are miles apart. My gut feeling is that Leon is not too upset at this point and is confident something will get done.

The only thing that worries me is he is putting himself at somewhat of a risj by not signing. Your next play could always end your career so I question his judgement on the offer that is currently on the table which is really quite fair.

But, I am confident he will be a Jet.

Of course he is worth more than Thomas Jones. Jones is playing up to what he is earning right now 900k. Thats about what he looks like he is worth.

Calling him one of the best weapons in the league at this point. I cant agree yet. Potential ? yes. He has no TD's through three weeks and he touches the ball a lot.
