Although it is nice, it's not that we are 2-0, it isn't that we have a great coach, or the fans are into it. For the first time in a long time, free agents will want to come play for us. Now, I am not a person that wants to build a team through free agency. But every year, it seems as if there is that one or two defensive or even offensive players that fly under the radar, can get for a good price, that every team wants. Now that the Jets have a good team going, and that players WANT to play for the Jets, those players will want to come here, and maybe accept less money to play for this team. Ok, the wins are better, but now this team can be going places.
When Ray Lewis realizes that the Defense he was part of was really Rex Ryan's doing(as he is starting to find out), he'll want out of Baltimore to come here to NY/NJ.
Ray Lewis is going to retire as a Raven. And by the time his contract is up, we probably won't want him anyway.
Yeah, we have been one of the top teams in signing free agents in the past few years with Mangini, who apparently nobody wants to play for.
They need to start saving up that cap space for Mangold & Harris after next year. Not to mention putting a couple bucks in the piggy bank for Revis in a few years. He will command franchise QB money.
While I agree we may be a target destination for upcoming free agents, we need to really focus on signing the players we already have. Mangold, Washington, harris, etc... are important pieces to our puzzle. Lets lock them up and see what we can do after that.
