This is the one thing I was really anxious to see out of this team and coaching staff, can they make adequate halftime adjustments. Since 2000, that was like pulling teeth out of a Jets CS. It seems like they are more then capable of adjusting, fine tuning or whatever you may call it. The Jets were flat out the much better team after halftime. They made life hell for Brady and found a way to keep (the Jets) defense on the sidelines. Next on the agenda for Ryan is to take control of all those stupid penalties....... I look forward to seeing everyone's opinion on this.
Halftime Adjustments indeed...Edwards, Mangini, and shitty coaches before Ryan did not believe in Halftime adjustments.
It was also nice not to have the secondary 50 yards away from the line of scrimmage the final series. i thought for sure they'd go into prevent defense and give brady a shot inside our 30. gotta love ryan for sending everybody and putting the pressure on. they definitly didn't expext it.
This is my favorite part of having a real coach. No more bullshit prevent. Defense kept bringing heat down to the end. It's awesome to see!
Cock B is too arrogant to adjust for anyone. He’s like a better manretard but stupid. Rex has just ruined his legacy and the rest of the NFL teams will follow suit in beating the piss fuck out of him; showing him no respect which he doesn’t deserve anyway because he’s a gay faggot homo who would rather have sex with man ass than a vagina. The Jets just beat the shit fuck pats and I got sucked off in the parking lot of my favorite jets bar. I FUCKING WIN TWICE!
My comment in the bar was the first thing Ryan has to do in the locker room at the half was to is "slap Shotty upside the head and tell him to open up the passing for Sanchez. And that's just how they came out. firing away.
It's well known BB is one of the best at making half time adjusments , maybe ever. In the first half the jets didn't throw one down field pass. The offense looked absolutely vanilla. I think it was done on purpose so that BB couldn't adjust at the half. I felt that way watching before the half anyway.
The penalties are going to keep happening I think. Ryan is from the school of coaching that says that if you absolutely demand that players not make mistakes at the snap you are taking away their aggression, particularly on defense, and you lose a half step to the ball. The Ravens and the Steelers have always had moderately high penalty counts especially on the defensive side. I expect the Jets to be there also. It really makes sense. If you tell your players to stay locked down as the absolute priority the other team IS going to get the jump on them. The Sack Exchange didn't care a lot about penalties. They wanted to get Klecko or Lyons through a gap or Gastineau around end and in the backfield quickly. This is the same thing.
Your right I think the only penalties that Rex hates are the foolish ones. For example the 12 man on the field penalty early in the game..Rex was furious at that one.
The Patriots couldn't game plan at half time because they had to walk an extra 3 minutes to get to the locker room.
It's certainly not the craziest thing I've ever heard. Plus, the fact that we kept the game so close in the first half we didn't have to start throwing all over the field. Pure genius if true...
Holy fuck is all I can say about the goddamn penalties. They driving me nuts today, especially in the first half when things weren't looking to good for us, this shit has got to stop and again I'll say this, the fucking run blocking really needs to step it up big time, BIG TIME!!!!!
This has crossed my mind. Trust me this is a welcome relief from the read and react or cover 2 crap we have had for 9 years. A true welcome relief. That being said, some slippage is ok but there have been noticeably stupid mental lapses that have taken place. Great coaches can find a fine line between playing aggressive and playing disciplined. It's his 2nd game and they have played two really aggressive, spirited games. I am not too worried but it is a concern. In fact it is about the only thing that concerns me any great deal.
well Rex is sort of just figuring some things out at the moment.... but that said, I would rather us be the most penalized team in the league, and have us attacking like mad, rather than have us be the least penalized team in the NFL and having us be one and done in the postseason if we even get there....
(for 2000-2009) We were usually one and done because................. well not to bring this to another Pennington bash............ the Qb's we have had for the last few years were completely incapable of beating an elite defense and we have had some really crappy coaches.
I'm pretty sure the "Oh Michael!" shout coming out of Billick's mouth in that Bud Light commercial was Mike McCrary jumping offsides again at a bad moment.
