Remember that poll, who is the best player on our defense, Revis or Jenkins? This is why I voted Revis. Jenks is a fucking monster when he's completely healthy. But the back will always be a problem, and it will eventually (hopefully ten years from now) be the reason he retires. It's also the reason I jumped on someone for saying there was no comparison between Jenks and Vince Wilfork. Wilfork has missed three games his entire career. Never underestimate the value of a healthy nose tackle. ADDED: I still completely expect Jenkins to snap Dan Koppen in half, though.
Instead of making the title something along the lines of "Jenkins taking the necessary precautions for Sunday." It's titled "Jenkin's Back Bothering Him". The thread title is very misleading, and the article isn't the best either. Anybody skimming over the threads would think "Fuck, here we go again!". Big Jenk and Rex both said it's not really a big deal.
I don't see anything wrong with the thread. It raises a legitimate concern. I doubt Mick was trying to get people to fly off the handle, and he hasn't been critical of Jenkins.
if I asked Kris Jenkins, "jenx, is your back bothering you?" he'd say "Yeah, Mick, it is. Thanks for your concern."
That arm swing he put on the Texan's center in last week's game was incredible. It was like a grown man knocking away a 12 year old kid. For us to win he needs to be healthy.
Revis should be able to heal his back. Revis Christ Jetsfan! Your av!! Rich is gonna splode n bust mad semen when he sees it.
I can't deny I don't like it but your av, like some others around, is approaching NSFW. I once had something similar but it was pointed out to me that many posters have young kids who come up to Dad while he is on the computer and can be exposed to these (lovely) images. We get away with a lot here, like no language filter, but some of the avs need to be toned down. IMHO.
our season is dependent on whether jenkins throws his children in the air anymore? Mrs. Jenkins hire a man beast to toss the kids in season please, in the off season Jenks can do it whenever he wants. we are trying to take over the division here!
No, just your boy Man-Mayo. I hear the Pats have hired a professional glass worker to fix his knee for 6-8 weeks.
We'll always need to be careful about using Jenkins... play him more against strong opponents like NE and then, against lesser teams, try to rest him a little bit more. I don't think he'll play past 32 or 33 unless he really sheds some weight, this is why I think we should draft a NT in rd1 next year... it's such an important position and we can't afford to panic if Jenks goes down. PS if he could get down in the 340-350 range that would be perfect for his injuries... however I just can't picture Ryan walking up to him and saying HE needs to loose weight
I think that either NT or a dominant type of DT/DE tweener are definitely tops on our list of priorities next offseason.
