http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nfl/news/story?id=4476497 This is a huge loss for the Pats. Mayo is their best defensive player...when he went down last week against the Bills, that defense looked average at best.
I have a feeling we're all going to be meeting Shonn Greene this week. Him and Jones are going to be pounding the piss out of the center of the field.
Two undrafted guys are going to fill in for last year's defensive rookie of the year... Gary Guyton and Eric Alexander will be the starting middle backers for New England. I liked Guyton a lot (until he went to the Pats) - he's fast as hell, but he's a little undersized and very inexperienced. I have a feeling Schotty's gonna go after these scrubs.
I think that's just what Ryan wants them to think too. That and dink and dunk passes. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they don't open up with Sanchez throwing a 50 yard bomb like he did in his first pre-season game.
I thought Crable played outside...and I thought he was on IR...yet again. This is a tough loss for the Pats. Am I happy he won't be there Sunday, not really. I wanna beat them with their best...but I sure as shit aren't gonna cry about it. So, to Patriots fans out there, you'll be without Mayo, and we'll be without Pace. So fuck 'em. This is about as equal as it gets.
I don't pay too much attention to the Pats' roster availability....didn't know that Crable was on IR.....thanks for the update. I'm glad Mayo is gone......All i care about is the Jets winning....whether it's ugly or not.
I'd love to finally get a look at Shonn Greene this week in real game action. I haven't seen that guy since the last time I scrolled to a post just below mine.
I don't know about that... Gary Guyton is very, very fast for a linebacker. He was the fastest linebacker at the 2008 combine - 4.47. Keller should still have a big day, but Guyton is definitely fast enough to keep up with him - his inexperience will be the biggest factor.
This was one of the nightmare scenarios for New England coming out of the gate: losing Mayo for 6 weeks, and it might be a bit longer, really puts a crimp in their plans for the year. There's no way in hell Belichik trades Seymour if he thought he was losing Mayo for half the season. The Pats defense is now average to above average, and that's not good enough. Saying they're above average might be too kind also. They have holes everywhere but on the defensive line, and the line is not perfect any more either.
