Another reach. ESPN didnt think he would be drafted and they dont even have a scouting report on him. Who knows-It looks like Coleman and Smith will be the future of our DBs
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/cb/drewcoleman.html Strengths: Very quick and fast with excellent timed speed...Plays like someone who is much bigger...Good instincts and is always around the action...Physical and is solid in run support...Gets his hands on a lot of passes...Still improving and has upside. Weaknesses: Lacks the ideal height and bulk that you look for...Does not have a ton of Division I experience...His tackling is sub par...Is raw and still needs a lot of technique work...Needs to hit the weights and get stronger...Durability is a concern. Notes: Attended Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas and transferred to Texas Christian in 2004...Tore his ACL in the summer before his junior year but made it back by mid-season...Developmental guy who will get some looks late.
Future? Doubtful, both im sure will be Special teamers. Coleman is freakin small, 5'8, 173. Thats tiny.
Dont know much about him, but at that size its probably his speed and upside that got him drafted this late
Reach ? what do you know about him? did you scout him, interview him or test him? Or your scouting report from Espn tells you that?
At this point in the draft, no one is a reach. It all comes down to scouting now, nothing that any amaetur scout would know.
It said he was JUCO All-American in 2002. This is the 6th round guys, we're not going to find Charles Woodsen or Ty Law this late...
There is no such thing as a "reach" in the 6th and 7th rounds. The last 2 rounds are for kickers, punters, and players you want to make sure you grab before teams start signing undrafted rookie free agents after the draft is over.
from nfl .com the guy is athlete . db is mangini craft if he thinks he can develop why not. its the 6th rd it not a big deal . how many no name db's have the pats took and turn them into something.
That is such a tired line... No, nobody here scouts players, but the guys from ESPN obviously have reasonable knowledge about these players, and that is all we have to go on. When we have 4 picks- Schlegal, Eric Smith, a BACKUP TE, and now this guy who are showing up as going at least 2 full rounds lower, or even Free Agent pickups, there is an obvious reason for conscern.
Or Ben Gordon from the Chicago Bulls.. As long as it's not Tom Gordon, the former Yankee choke artist.
or maybe they are looking for tough, physical, intelligent players with upside. Hmmm. I personally have nothign to complain about with this draft. 2 starting Online, QB of the future, speed back, which we need, speed WR , a FB , by NFL rules we do need a FB and we don't have one, so we drafted the best non O line blocker. Now we seem to draft a sppedy DB. Man theres no reason to complain.
Tired? As tired as the nonesense you are spewing. Yes you dont know anything about the guy but you complain about him because the guy you like was not picked, either way we are not going to draft 10 starters or even 10 players who make this team. Unless you are a scout or you have looked at all the players we are drafting, just SHUT UP and find something else to complain about, maybe go and complain about your mom, dad, sister, brother wife or kids.ENOUGH!!!!!!
There are always people bashing the late round picks and in actuality TB used to get a lot of production out of those picks and almost all of them saw the field each year.
