Also teams were loading up against the run against FSU since they had one QB go nuts and had a freshman starting all year. IF this guy can stay healthy, it's a great pick.
i remember when leon was coming to fsu out of HS, he was highly touted, his offensive coaches sucked and in his senior year, his Oline sucked i think hell be great
1 Houston + 1 Washington = 1 Emmit Smith. "New Math", what do I know from these things; but it just may add up that way in the end. It addressed a screaming need and I don't hate it - I just wish we weren't always in The Land of the Midgets.
I like the pick a lot. It's the first one I've liked since round 1. Anyway, what is all this "Jones can't play right tackle nonsense?" I'm very sick of it. Presumably, because he struggled in his first few starts at the position last year, he's not going to be able to play it? Total nonsense. Jones has the athleticism to play either spot, and he'll be very good. Bear in mind the guy has only been playing the position for about three years. If you can play left tackle, you can play right tackle. I don't know if you've noticed, but the days of the 290 pound left defensive end are disappearing. -X-
Good RBs come out of the 2nd day more than any other position-not saying hes going to be amazing-just a better chance than 1 in 1000
Hes got athleticism, nobodys denying that, but at around 290, hes about 40 pounds shy of being able to get a push in the run game. LT and RT are two different positions, and I dont agree that if you can play LT, you can play RT. With Brick on the other side, the last thing we need is another marginal run blocker. The worst part is, that Jones may not even have the frame to play RT, and the ability to pack on the weight...
Jones can play right tackle, but with his size, he can't play it that effectively. He played left tackle decently, and I doubt he can shift to the right very well.
WHOA, NELLIE. Begging your pardon, Sir, but I didn't say I didn't like the pick. Read it again, and you can try reading between the lines while you're at it. And, I can never and will never stand accused of being a bandwagon and/or jump shipper because of popular or unpopular opinion, thanks. That's about as off the mark as you can possibly get. Better luck next time with a comment like that, Palzee Walzee.
This was some solid insight! I guess being in the northeast, you had gotten a chance to see a lot more of Calhoun than you did of Washington I figure?
This all goes to show that no one (except maybe Mel Kiper ~sarcasm~) knows how any of these guys are going to translate to the NFL. There is still a lot of wood to chop in Leon's career but so far so good.
Wow, this is something funny. I see most guys gave pros to Washington. Yes, so far so good. Nothing to complain. Jets
