Watching the pre-season games this guy has really stood out. The things that jumped out are he is stout against the run, very strong at the point of attack and a guy that is a tough tackler.

My questions are directed @ the areas I never got a chance to observe......

1.) Can he cover? Is he lost out in space?

2.) If the answer is no to #1, does he have the potential to be serviceable in coverage?

3.) Just for comparison sake does he compare favorably to a Victor Green type of player.

Anyway, those are the quick questions that come to mind with him. He really impressed me against the oppositions #2's and 3's. Obviously, the speed is significantly different with a 1st team offense. Looking forward to peoples answers..........

I don't have an answer for you but I have to agree I love his aggressiveness and the way he drives through his opponents. He is a Rex guy.

Absolutely, a Rex type of player, has the size, physcality and tackling ability necessary to play in this type of D. With Ryan schemes I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the field quite a bit this year.

Ihedigbo is a player. He has always been a huge hitter. Very strong. Good hands and good runner. Can pick the ball and turn it into 6. He is still learning, he misses tackles once in awhile and is sometimes not in the right position. But usually he is in the right position and usually he nails the dude with the ball. I think the issue with him is can he cover. He is not combine fast which is presumably why he wasn't drafted even though he was an all american at Massachusetts. I think he is football fast however. James has consistently improved throughout his career. He walked on at Massachusetts and became and all american. He was UFA w/NY and earned a spot on the ST and now he is the main backup to Rhodes. It seems clear that he is going to get opportunities this yr to see if he is ready to become one of those guys that Ryan develops and who becomes part of the glue to a superior defense. Should be fun to watch Ihedigbo develop and take his game to the next level.

Looks like another Elam to me. Not a bad backup to keep around, see if he can develop in our defensive system.

I remember last preseason he got burnt a few times but also laid a few people out...

One in particular where he took a bad angle and went for the pick and gave up 6. Maybe against the Giants..

Anyway, he is a good body but in cover, needs to stay within the system.
He has played better but him getting burned is still in my mind. Hopefully he's learned..

He is good in run support, haven't seem him in much coverage. Now that you brought it up, he does remind me of Green in his aggresive play for a smaller guy.

Green led the team in tackles and got around 200 one year, if I remember right.

I remember that preseason game. Tight end ran a seam route from about the fifteen yard line. Ihedigbo had just intercepted a ball on the previous drive and on this play his ego was going full motor so he read the QB's eyes, saw it was going to the tight end and stepped up in front of him. The QB lofted the ball over Ihedigbo for the TD.

I like his aggresiveness and physical nature. However, he has looked bad in space (see the 70yd run vs. the Rams & the catch & run by Eagles WR #11 Amendola).

He's still young and raw but he has potential. I would be nervous with him on the field at this point.

My question has always been how do you pronounce Ihedigbo?

He made a pick right in front of us in a pre-season game last year, looks like he's pretty good as a backup for now.

YES! Whew, I was starting to think I was dreaming this shit

    I've heard it 2 ways.
In both ways the G is silent

-I-head-DEE-bow - accent on the DEE
-ee-HEADeebow - accent on the Head (insert gay pun)

If someone can tell me how to pronounce King Ugly's last name, I'm on it. He's called Iggy for a reason. Can we all stutter in unison, hello.

Yeah I can not even begin to pronounce that name.

I know coverage is his Achilles heal. Hopefully, he can get better at it. Anyway, I like a safety that makes running backs and Wr's have their head in a swivel. Any additional drops and forced fumbles are always welcome. However if you cant cover I dont know how useful he would be in this defense.
