There are questions about his bulk, strengths, and run blocking, pus I've read many reviews tha the cannot run block effectively, and is easily bull rushed?

He seems very similar to Mawae..quck feet, can pull, etc..but on the down sid like Mawae, straight ahead run blocking is not one of his strengths..at least right ow anyway?

He's going to start next season.

He'll have Kendall on one shoulder and Brandon Moore likely on the other and he'll do fine.

Mangold can start, ASAP. But all the offensive line spots are pretty much up for grabs except LT.

He is a starter from Day 1, no question. He and Ferguson will have their rookie moments this season, but in a couple of years they will anchor one of the stoutest lines in the NFL. I have no doubt about that.

Somewhere there is a shoe lodged in a television screen, with Norm Katnik's name written all over it.

He better be. You don't draft a center in the 1st round if he's not a starter right away.

A center in the 1st round is almost unheard of.

Mangold better start. If he gets hurt or something unforeseen happens I guess Trey Teague.

I think he will be penciled in as a starter. However, no matter how high he was drafted he is still a rookie at one of the hardest positions to learn coming into the NFL. No doubt there will be growing pains. That is why the FO signed Teague. They thought ahead, which is a huge departure from the past regime. In case Mangold struggles too much, Teague can come in and start a couple games. But in the long run, he is going to be a cornerstone.

Exactly, which left me wondering why they even signed Teague?

Teague can play tackle and I think the Jets also signed this kid Norm Katnik who played at USC. Nothing like alittle competition at center.

You can never have enough lineman.

As we learned in the 05 season, I don't think you can have too many of anything.

You rarely draft 1st round linemen to watch. Both your guys will start as will Davin Joseph and likely Jeremy Trueblood.

Only way they don't get in is if who ever they're here to replace has a resurgence due to preasure and really steps up in TC and PS.

There's no room for Mangold to start this year, we have the C and G's set. he'll learn under teague, get some PT and be ready to go in year 2.

Agreed. Mangold will be the starter, however competition still exist.
Tangini knows what it's going to take to make everyone starter ready.
