And what I was saying is that Larry got it done, in the playoffs, without Boldin's help.

The other point about comparing stats is that Arizona can afford to throw it around to other receivers who will make plays. That cuts into Larry's totals.

I don't know the specifics of what Larry did with his contract, or why.

Larry imo is simply the best receiver in the game right now.

Walter is a big body and often takes advantage of the fact taht he is single covered. We should no right away this year how good Lito is really going to be because I expect Walter to get a lot of looks early and often in this game.

this is goingt to be a fanastic matchup.. Andre is a complete beast and Revis is argueably the best CB on the planet. I bet Andre 2 catches 42 0TDs

Fitz has outperformed Johnson from a stats perspective, they both have the same number of pro bowls and johnson has one year on fitzgerald in the league. The numbers are skewed towards fitzgerald for TDs and yds per gm etc. That could be because of Boldin for sure. They're both receivers that you can only pray to limit in a game, to me, Fitzgerald almost took over the entire super bowl last year against the Steelers no less on the biggest stage in sports. All those things just point the needle in his direction for me.

I'm not seeing your point here....Boldin lining up on the other side is the "help" Fitz enjoys...and Boldin played in the 3 playoff games..in fact, he had 8 catches in the SuperBowl.

Kevin Walter, Slaton and Owen Daniels also make plays for the Texans....so, by your logic, this would cut into AJ's totals?.....not sure what your point is here either. This really has no bearing on the AJ/Fitz comparison.

He alluded to the fact that he may restructure his deal to help the Cards keep Boldin

He's certainly top 3 in the league...no dispute there.

I'm not worried about Lito because Texans will not gameplan around Walter. If Johnson is kept in check the plays will be dump offs to Slaton and Daniels.

The problem is the dump offs. The Vikings were too worried about coverage and dropped back a lot leaving a lot of room open in the middle. Ryan needs to go to school on the films of that.

Andre Johnson will get his catches, that is expected... but one guy we never have to worry about is Darelle Revis. He is as good as they come, and should keep Johnson to an average day. Problem is, Houston has alot of other weapons in the passing game to worry about....

It was an Inglorious Basterds reference.

andre johnson has a massive upper body and uses it very well to shield defenders from the ball while in mid air. combine it with freakish speed for his size and sure hands. good YAC

then again revis is good at closing in late and duping QB's into seeing a window. revis is a good tackler too so i dont see him getting stiff armed or tossed down after a reception.

    we'll see.

i think andre johnson is the best reciever in the NFL simply because hes never played next to Anquan Boldin or with Kurt Warner

To me, in a typical gameplan, the opposing team accounts for revis and doesn't want to find out what's going to happen if they throw in his direction. In some cases, it's more about the CB than the WR, with Revis, I think that's the case when game planning. Revis is a top 5 (that's a safe assumption, I think he's top 3) CB in this league, that scares the crap out of OCs.

Or with Kurt Warner? Do you remember Kurt Warner between 2002 and 2007? He's had a fortunate resurgence in Arizona but it's the tail wagging the dog here, it's the receivers that are making him look good. Don't bring Kurt Warner into the argument. Please.

I don't know how many of you are into fantasy football, but would you start Johnson 1st week? I guess either way I'm hedging my bets, although I care way more about the Jets winning than I do "my team" winning. It's not even close.

Yeah, def. right. It should be one hell of a matchup, though. I got him and Boldin (2nd and 3rd). I picked third. First guy picks AP, second pick (a girl) picks AARON RODGERS. I was truly shocked. Needless to say I picked up Turner in about 3 seconds flat at number 3. Fell right into my lap.

Alot of people are crediting Fitz with having Boldin on the other side, which gives him an edge. I think you guys are forgetting that Kurt Warner is also the man throwing the ball to Fitz. A. Johnson may be a better receiver then Fitz, (if so, then not by much) but Fitz has a much better cast around his, thus inflating his numbers...
