Cutler is clearly a netter and far superior franchise QB. But who can he throw to? So Orton by default.
something people aren't talking about enough is the system, McDaniels is going to implement the Patriots offense in Denver, and it should do wonders for Orton, I mean look at the 2 qbs who have been in the Patriots offense, Brady has brought up his arm strength, but he still doesn't have the arm or mobility of Cutler, and neither does Cassel, yet both were very successful in that offense, I think Orton is close to as talented as Cassel, and the system helps to and stresses minimizing mistakes, add in a good O-line to keep Orton healthy and I think he could be in for a year of say 34-37k yards, 20-25 TDs and 15 or less Ints. Cutler is in a terribly coached Offense and he's a gambler I'd put him at 30-40k Yards 20-30 TDs 15-20 INTs.
At the time I thought for sure Denver would bring in another QB and not try to compete with Orton. Now I think they might just as well trade Marshall (to us) as it seems they will.
I think that if someone doesn't offer Denver a 1st rounder + they are gonna make him sit rot the way Gruden made Keyshaun rot in TB.
Cutler is the better Qb. And The recivers in Denver were good because part of the reason was Cutler was throwing to them. Now Orton comes in and he is not cutler
LOL, what an absurd question. Seriously? Kyle Fucking Orton? Wow, just goes to show that there are all types of people in this world, so nothing should amaze me.....there are people out there who think "The Godfather" sucked, people who think cameras can steal your soul, people who prefer to fuck goats, and evidently people who think Orton will have a better year than Cutler.
Devil's Advocate time: Cutler is absolutely the more talented QB, but Orton isn't nearly as bad as people are making him out to be. He's a smart QB who can take full advantage of a situation where he has a good running game. Before his injury last season, he was Top 10 in the league. I expect big years from Eddie Royal and Tony Scheffler, and if Brandon Marshall doesn't bitch his way off of the team, it could be closer than some of you think. Having said that, Orton has spent the preseason looking more like his post-injury self than his pre-injury self. Still, it's the preseason.
If you put this thread out a year ago and change Orton to Pennington and Cutler to Favre, I imagine the reactions from non-Jets fans would have been similar. I guess you never know.
Last year 11 of Cutler's picks were inside his or the opposing team's red zone. That's fucking awful when you think about how many points that cost his team. It might be closer than some people think.
obviously way too early, but it might be interesting to keep a running tally every week Player . Yards . TDs . INTs . comp% . Rating . Wins .. Losses Orton . 243 ,, . 1 . 0 ,, . 60.7 . ,, 100.7 , 1 , 0 Cutler . 277 ,, . 1 ,, . 4 ,, . 47.2 . 43.2 ..0 ,,, 1
take away that fluke td and it would be a lot closer. i feel sorry for cutler trying to throw to those bums.
