Since final cuts are approaching fast name your final 53 man roster.

    Offense: 25 players

OT - Ferguson, Woody, Hunter, Kracalick (or someone acquired through waivers)
    OG - Faneca, Moore, Slauson
    C - Mangold, Turner

TE - Keller, Simmons, (someone acquired through waivers)
WR - Cotchery, Clowney, Stuckey, Wright, Smith, Davis (or waiver)
    QB - Sanchez, Clemens, Ainge
    RB - TJ, Washington, Greene
    FB - Richardson

    Defense: 25

    NT - Jenkins, Greene, Pouha
DE - Ellis, Douglas, De Vito, Pitoitua

OLB - Pace, Thomas, Gholston, Murrell
ILB - Scott, Harris, Westermann, Cummings, Renkart or Trusnik

CB - Revis, Sheppard, Lowery, Strickland, Carroll or Coleman
S - Rhodes, Leonhard, Smith, Ihedigbo (or Cook... I really like him but I guess he'll make the PS)

    Special Team:

    LS - Dearth
    K - Feely
    P - Hodges (but I guess we'll change many)

I removed the PS because clearly I had no idea of how it worked :p

Allison won't be eligible for PS, I don't think. Ditto guys like Trusnik and Caulcrick who have played in the league.

What are the rules to be eligible for the PS?

The OP seems on the money, one slight change is I would put Allison over Davis. Allison looked blazing fast Monday.

I was thinking about that but Davis would be the only tall guy we have... Oh well, we'll see!

Was Jehuu ever active? So it means, we either have to carry 2 FBs or let him walk, damn.

I don't think he was ever active. He's been on and off of the practice squad but that's about it. I think we can sign him to the PS for one more year.

The OP is pretty close I think. The few changes I would make would be I am fairly certain we will carry at least 10 DB's. I think the odd man out would be Pitoitua in favor of Marquice Cole. I think Izzo makes it as the 9th LB/ST ace. I also think we will only keep 5 WR and instead keep an extra RB (either Caulcrick or Woodhead).

I would feel much more comfortable if we are able to pick up a decent TE and ILB off the waiver wire. At this point Westerman is the primary backup at all four LB positions. That's alot to ask for an undrafted FA rookie.

I wouldn't be surprised to see if we cherrypick off of the Ravens defensive cuts.

It is a lot to ask but I do no think that the coaching staff is going to overload him. The more pressing need right now is at OLB so I expect to see him focused more on that position with Trusnik, or Renkart filling in at ILB.

I think thats way to many backup O-linemen. If you remember last year, we carried two almost the whole season-Turner and Hunter. I think this year maybe we'll carry 3.

I thought that too but I think he played pretty well against the Ravens... I would love it if they cut Pouha but I don't think they will... Jenkins is too much of a question mark right now...

PS and come on... Gruden LOVES saying Pitoitua :p

    WR1 1. Jerricho Cotchery, 2. David Clowney, 3. Chansi Stuckey, 4. Wallace Wright(ST), 5. Brad Smith
(Hopefully Smith will be replace by a trade or waiver WR)

Note 3: One WR we will have by week one is not on this roster yet.

Looking at that roster makes me cringe at the lack of depth we have. We're fucked at WR, OG, OT, DE, and NT if a starter goes down.

Actually we're fucked at WR as is.

Do we need to keep 6 WRs?

I figured if we lose one we can always have Keller fill in for 5 WR sets.

Any 53 besides Gholston. He'll be the meanest looking practice squad guy though.

    I'd say:

    # 1 2 3 4 5 6
QB 3 Mark Sanchez Kellen Clemens Erik Ainge
HB 3 Thomas Jones Leon Washington Shonn Greene
FB 2 Tony Richardson Jehuu Caulcrik
WR 5 Jerricho Cotchery David Clowney Chansi Stuckey Brad Smith Wallace Wright
TE 2 Dustin Keller Kareem Brown
OT 4 D'Brickashaw Ferguson Damien Woody Robert Turner Wayne Hunter
OG 4 Alan Faneca Brandon Moore Matt Slauson Stanley Daniels
C 2 Nick Mangold Robert Turner
    K 1 Jay Feeley
    P 1 Not on Roster
    LS 1 James Dearth
DE 3 Shaun Ellis Marques Douglas Mike DeVito Ropati Pitoitua
DT 3 Kris Jenkins Howard Green Sione Pouha
OLB 4 Calvin Pace Bryan Thomas Vernon Gholston Marques Murrell
ILB 5 Bart Scott David Harris Larry Izzo Jamaal Westerman Kenwin Cummings
CB 6 Darrelle Revis Lito Sheppard Dwight Lowery Donald Strickland Drew Coleman Ahmad Carroll
FS 2 Kerry Rhodes James Ihedigbo
SS 2 Jim Leonhard Eric Smith

    Total: 53

I don't feel strongly about a lot of guys on this list, specifically the oline backups. It wouldn't surprise me if a handful of them were replaced by FA OL who get cut.

I definitely don't think any of the punters on our squad are going to make the team.

This sounds about right to me. I think OL depth may come from vet cuts. And agree that Ravens cuts--from either side of the ball--could find their way to us. "The devil you know..." and all that

    A few other possibilities:

    1. On O, I think Woodhead and/or Allison could sneak on if either does something extraordinary in the next two games. In fact the thought of Clowney and Allison occasionally in at the same time to stretch the defense as well as open up running/underneath passing is intriguing.

Jehuu hasn't done much to impress so far, at least from what I've seen, and he's one of the few Rex hasn't gushed over. His strength at this point is his athletic potential and that we have no other FB.

    2. On D, I would not be shocked if Ihedigbo gets cut, but he probably survives as his hard hitting probably outweighs his occasional bonehead blunders. Some of those blunders are pretty big though, and Rex may not stand for it. I dunno.

And of course one or two significant injuries in the last two games changes everything...(please God, no, PLEASE?)
