Woodhead played with no physicality? Did you watch the game? I was very impressed with how he ran Monday.
Slauson has played quite a bit at RG these first two games. He has not looked bad at all. The kid has not got puched around at all. Did see that he could not get to the LB in the Ravens games a couple of times, but all in all he has played IMO pretty solid. Surprisingly even a little better in pass blocking than run blocking. I think he will make the 53 man roster.
How many O-linemen usually make the team? I say we keep three backups: Slauson at G, Turner at G/C and Hunter at T. If that is the case I imagine all the other guys will get cut / signed to the practice squad. PS I wouldn't mind a veteran who can play T and G...
What about Larry Izzo? I mean, I don't think we really need him... we have a bunch of good ST and at ILB I'd prefer to keep young guys like Westermann, Trusnik, Cummings and Renkart...
Woodhead ran hard, but has no push and does not have Leon's ability to make people miss. He looked slow out there to me. He's not going to be a good NFL back from what I have seen.
I wasn't. He got taken down with a couple arm tackles and he doesn't ever get yards after contact. To make a team with 3 guys ahead of him, plus Caulcrick and Richardson both probably staying ont he team in some respect, he needs to do more than that. I am pulling for the guy, he's got a great story, and perhaps there is a place for him in the league but I jsut don't think it's on this team this season.
He's a leader and a special teams ace....I think he will make the team on that alone....and he can long snap if anything happens to Dearth.
How many special teamers can you keep- Larry Izzo, Wallace Wright, Ahmad Carroll, Brad Smith, Drew Coleman somebodies got to go...
1. Marcus Henry: several chances and nothing. NO PS for you again Mister. 2. Woodhead: Unless he makes ST's as a PR guy and besides, we have Leon. 3. Coleman: Can't be effective anyplace besides ST's and we have enough ST guys already. 4. Washington: Already released due to critical drop and fumble in Rams game. 5. #88: Fast but can't catch very well. Critical drop in Ravens game and a fumble as well I believe.
Henry is brutal Britt Davis and Brad Smith look like they are lost at all times, but I still would keep Smith. Woodhead looked slow and weak, I like the idea of him but he isn't NFL caliber Coleman is a terrible CB
Slauson is probably going to make the roster due simply to the fact that we are thinner than a frog hair split 3 ways and sanded at OL depth. Same with Hunter. Turner is a virtual lock because he's decent and he's versatile. They use him at H-back in a number of plays.
