At least two Dolphins players test positive for swine flu Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 22, 2009 2:14 PM ET At least two Dolphins players will sit out Saturday's preseason game because of something that has never showed up on an injury report: swine flu. Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have advised the rest of the team that some players (possibly as few as two) will be out after testing positive for the disease. There is not yet a "major fear" that swine flu has spread, but the team has told the players to maintain good hygiene and wash their hands regularly to avoid coming down with the disease. Darlington writes that "the disease is considered manageable and symptoms in healthy adults tend to be mild," but clearly the possibility of an outbreak on a team that spends all day in such close quarters would be a concern. It's not clear yet which players tested positive for the disease.
(UPDATE: Dolphins team spokesman Harvey Green has identified cornerbacks Sean Smith and Jason Allen as the sick players, but said they are awaiting test results.) There is no word on how long the ailing Dolphins will be out of action, though the H1N1 virus does not generally present with serious conditions, barring complication.
I'll bet one of them is Randy Starks. The Miami Beach police officer that he struck finally has his retribution!!!!!
It seems to have mutated into something not any worse than a cold. Most people now don't even know they have or have had it unless they are being tested for it. Of course that could change again this fall when the kids get back to school.
everyone knows swine flu is spread by homosexuality, so its no surprise that two people on the dolphins have it
