Baker caught 2 TD passes yesterday in the Pats preseason game. Granted he only caught 3 passes for 22 yards, but he found the endzone twice. I know Baker is just an average TE, but we all know he will score at least 1 game winning TD against us.
I'm sure Baker will have his success in that offense. I mean who are you going to worry about, Moss, Welker, Fred Taylor, Galloway or Baker? Someone is going to be open and Brady will find them unless someone is Bernard Pollarding him.
Baker is / was a steady TE nothing more. The fact is Brady makes average players look good etc etc All the hate is crazy as he was a decent player for us however now he is a patriot ..fuck him!
He might be "average", but he's a clutch player, which is good in my book. As soon as he started acting afool, he was as good as gone.. and the minute he left, it was clear he was Miami or NE-bound.. and when he signed with the Pats, it was clear he was going to score touchdowns. Lots and lots of touchdowns. It's as depressing as it is predictable.
All the Baker threads are probably on the Pats boards where they are all letting themselves get sucked in this time. Probably could have had Baker or Keller....duh..that was a tough decision.
Baker is a good TE. He will be great in NE. There are no threads on his 2 TD's because it is upsetting. haha.
Right, but here's what is poetic about this. The Pats picked up Baker because Ben Watson hasn't lived up to why they drafted him. The Jets cut Baker because they drafted Keller - who is EXACTLY what the Pats wanted Ben Watson to be.
Watson may be on the outside looking in. Baker has been the #1 TE in camp because he is easily the best blocker they have. Alex Smith is a shoe-in for a spot, and Thomas has been making alot of catches, and pojects as a FB when the need arises. I would not be stunned if Watson was available before the season starts.
