Eagles, meet the Wildcat formation. Wildcat formation, meet the Eagles.

With all of the talk about the Wildcat, let's remember where Vick has been for the past two years. You don't exactly keep in optimal shape while you're in prison. Who knows how much of that speed he still has at this point. I see this as a good move for the Eagles because of the timing. You get 9 weeks from now to introduce Vick to the offense before he's eligible to play in Week 7. You get a QB who very well could return to form. If that happens, yes, you have a solution for the Wildcat (although an offseason can do wonders for solving offensive systems). You also have a great insurance policy for McNabb OR trade bait OR a slightly younger solution at the position should McNabb's age start to show. However, I wouldn't make any assumptions about how he'll be used or what he'll do this season.

Interesting. Vick was a starting QB for many years and not just a "wildcat" QB. He is capable of the full-time role when McNabb eventually gets hurt. Also I am not a fan of this gay-azz attitude that the media will prevent a man from throwing to his receivers and dodging defenders. Being afraid of the unavoidable PR a team may get doesn't get you to the Super Bowl. So let's all get your panties out of a bunch and welcome cheap uber-talent when the opportunity arises. I suppose at the end of the season you all can say, "I told you so" should the eagles not go as far as the Jets. But on paper, despite alleged frenzied reporters, the Eagles made a HUGE move. Only time will tell...

I think you guys are missing the best part here.

I don't give a shit about Vick or the Eagles.

But imagine, a bunch of angry PETA dinguses getting into it in front of the Vet with a bunch of drunk Eagles dipshits... this whole thing has Win-Win written all over it.

The Eagles have the personnel to introduce the University of Florida offense into the NFL now. It could be like the Chris Leak/Tebow championship season, with McNabb and Vick. Not to mention Maclin, Jackson, Westbrook, etc. Screw the Wildcat, that's old news.

That may not be true. The league said they will make a decision by the 6th game at the latest. He may also be able to play week 1.

This was a great move by the Eagles and perfect for Vick. He gets to sit and chill, but he will also he get his opportunity in about two weeks when the Eagles will play their third pre-season game.

Vick has never had weapons like this before. He also never had an offensive line that is as good as this group. Except for the TE position, everyone at the skills positions are better for Vick. Eagles will have a quality back-up if McNabb goes down. The Eagles are loaded.

Betcha falcon fans have Dec 8 circled on their calendars. I wonder how many #7 jerseys will be in the stands that game? That is ... if Vick can stay out of trouble for that long.

This could also work the other way, too. Many prisoners turn into gym rats while serving their sentence because there's not much else to do behind bars besides work out.

The Vet was imploded more than 5 years ago. Make sure those PETA people go to the Linc.
