He had plenty of opportunities to cause fumbles because his man was making so many catches. He's just not that good. and this: seems like trying to compare Lowery to Revis. As if to say he would have had comparable success if there was no Revis across from him. edit: I also think I'm harder on him than I probably should be because I get so aggravated when I see everyone praising him like he was awesome last year. He WAS only a rookie after all.
Hey, it's great if he wants to develop into a Pro Bowler. I don't see that, but I'll be happy if he becomes another Ray Mickens.
I wasn't comparing Revis to Lowery, Kenny did. In fact, i tried to prove that comparing Revis to Lowery makes no sense, mostly because Lowery had to play with a probowler on the other side of the field while Revis had Justin Miller and Hank Poteat fighting for the other job.
Lowery will make the Pro Bowl sometime in his career. His work ethic and ballhawk abilities make it near impossible for him not to play at a high level. It wouldnt surprise me if hes also starting opposite Revis before our bye week...
I don't know why everyone hates Lowery so much. He was playing rookie in a difficult position and was picked on alot. Our expectations for a 4th round cornerback are way too high. Lowery showed a lot of promise and probably should have not played as much as he did. He did however gain a lot of experience and he might be still be young enough to improve his speed or quickness. Parisi Speed school anyone? haha
he will pan out to be a better nickel corner than denvers alphonso smith, im calling it. yet they spent a 2nd and a 1st on him.
I think his potential is much higher then most of us here think. Wait and see what happens when hes playing CB in a scheme that has the pass rushers applying pressure. You will see his INT's and PD's spike. No, not every player in the NFL has work ethic, and not every player is a playmaker. Even less have both....
Whatever the defensive scheme is, if that scheme leaves Lowery in the island alone, without any support wshatsoever, that is a failure waiting to happen. Coincidentally, that's exactly what Mangini did last year. This was why I expressed my concern that, maybe - just maybe Lowery's future lies elsewhere - specifically Dallas, where Dallas 2 is the main base defense. With Rex at helm, though, things won't be same - as it was in Mangini's time.
