You're just a bucket of optimism aren't you Defense and a good run game can take us a very long way. And you act like we still have Chad Pennington throwing the ball, both Clemens and Sanchez can throw a deep ball and we have some speed, so no defenses won't stack the box on us anymore just because we don't have huge name receivers. But go ahead and panic, if it will make you feel any better.
^ defenses will stack the box on the Jets. They will not play honest for a 4th year veteran with little experience and a rookie with 16 college starts.
this is when keller becomes a key. mismatches over the deep middle. but yes, you are right, which is why greene, a guy who will wear D's out will help move the chain.
You stack the box against teams that don't have a deep threat, any college QB with a good arm can lob one over a defense.
Keller splitting the seam has to be a mainstay in the offensive playbook. play action should be his best friend in terms of being that much more open.
this is dependant on our Split Ends being able to beat 1 on 1 coverage. If the Split Ends can't demand help over the top from a safety then expect Keller to be blanketed by a linebacker and safety on every play.
good point. though when we start running through their asses with our oline and supposedly awesome looking run game, they will bring that safety up. PA, hit keller for a 50 yarder over the middle.
Actually no last night........ I was watching Rob Zombie's Halloween remake and heard a noise outside. I was alone and it as very dark. I got my baseball bat because everyone knows from watching horror flicks, you can knock out a psychotic possessed killer with a bat rather easy. By that time that wacked music started playing, I panicked and crapped my pants..............
We're good at this. We've done it like 3 times in the last 8 years. It'd be nice if it's the last time for awhile. At least Ryan isn't moving us back to the 4-3, that'd be kiss of death and looking at transition 4 in 2012.
Honestly, I think who the starting QB is will determind how defenses attack the Jets. If it's Sanchez, I would blitz and blitz and blitz until he made me pay for it at least twice. With Clemens you at least have some game film to go back and look at and see what he does and does not do well. If I had to gameplan for the jets, I would expect a lot of what the ravens did last year, which was run run run then throw it when you have to. So yes, i would be stacking the box against the run, but if Sanchez is at Qb I'm also trying to use a few disguized blitz packages to see how much I can confuse him.
It will be typical Jets football from the sound of it. Rookie QB, Rookie HC, and not a lot of offensive talent to go around (at least at WR). Not to sound all doom and gloom, but we're not winning the SB this year.
