Sanchez is improving so fast this will not last long...Bart Scott said "He never makes the same mistake twice."

That would be pretty stupid. KC is a jet who is trying best he can to make us a winner and could certainly use some help from the fans. We need cheers for all our players...not boos. May the best palyer win

Saw this one coming. Ryan would understandably give preference to the vet in this case; he's been here longer and knows the system better (supposedly) so it makes sense that he would get the first crack at the starting defense. This is probably going to be his last chance to prove that he belongs under center. Plus, it gives Sanchez more time to play since the starters will be out after the first drive or so.

This will be Clemens' last shot to impress. I'm happy Sanchez is progressing the way the reports are indicating.

I'm ok with Clemens. I still think Sanchez won't be exempt from getting used to the speed of the NFL. If the preseason proves me wrong, or the early weeks of the season, I'll be much happier if Sanchez is the starter when it counts. But til then, by now, Clemens has to know what he's doing.

mangold was slotted exactly where he was drafted. He was a late round pick, considering he's a center.

    you know nothing.

Mangold was a great pick and excellent value. He should have been a top ten pick. Top two center in the league.

Revis was a good value pick who is turning out to be great but only time will tell. Lito had great success early on yet we still got him cheap from the Eagles.

Keller is a WR not a TE. The rulling is still far from over. There were a couple pure WR I would rather have had and the way our receivers are currently looking we need one. No #1 WR or blocking TE, we are in trouble.

Now for the other top two round great picks of the last eight years:
Vernon Gholston - plain horrible ... after this year we can officially call him a bust
David Harris - could be great if he stays healthy and can play Rex's defense
D'Brickashaw Ferguson - #4 overall was way too early ... not even top two OL on team
Kellen Clemens - 4th year pro and a 4th month player is beating him for the job
Mike Nugent - I seem not to find him on the roster
Justin Miller - same as above ... overrated from the start
Jonathan Vilma - where oh where is the small LB now, we didn't get sh!t for in a trade
Dewayne Robertson - BIGGEST bust of the becade, ruling still out on Gholston
Victor Hobson - slowwww LB who was nothing special
Bryan Thomas - can't start over Gholston .. wow
    Jon McGraw - who
Santana Moss - best draft pick of this group and we gave him away
LaMont Jordan - just trying to make a team as a backup in this league

With building drafts like these no wonder the Jets are so thin in many positions.

What is all this? You specifically targeted 1st round picks under mangini as having sucked. Now you break out every bad draft pick you can think of in the last 10 years?

    boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

btw, D'Brick is a dominant pass blocker which is most important for a LT. Yeah he needs to continue to improve his run blocking, but he has developed into exactly the player he was projected to be at #4 overall.

I love mangold but do you know how many centers have gone in the FIRST ROUND, let alone top ten?

    exactly.

A center touches the ball just as much if not more than the QB. The center focuses on the timing of the snap, delivery of the ball to the QBs hands and then has to get in position to block the NT charging him. Not to mention if he is pulling for a running play.

A CENTER is the most important player on offense after the QB.

    You guys underrate Mangold.

I was shocked when Mangold lasted until we picked him.

a LT is much more important than a Centre. look no further than at all the drafts. they go much higher and much more frequently than centers. \

how were you shocked? he got drafted right where he was slotted.

Out of all the guys drafted by the Jets in the last decade only Revis and Mangold have proven to have HOF potential.

Why were you shocked at a late first rounder being drafted late in the first round ?

You don't need all your picks to be HOF potential. You want your picks to be productive players.... Leon Washington Round 4, Kerry Rhodes Round 4, David Harris Round 2, Jerricho Cotchery Round 4.... do you not think those were good draft picks?

One thing NYJ brass has been doing right in the last 5 years is drafting.

Everybody is reading way too much into this. Sanchez will start the second game..they are alternating and that's how it works. By the third game Ryan will have decided who the starter is and that's who will start that game..simple really. Only injuries will change it.

Why? It is obvious. There will be people there all on Sanchez's dick that WILL boo Clemens. It happens in every single sport. Get over it.

Yep. He came on right after the draft to try to defend himself and disappeared again into the closet.

Justin Miller was cut by the jets and picked up by the raiders.
