We should have an excelent line this season. The additude these gys exude is great. I can wait for the games to start.
 Great point, although Faneca isn't who he was he is still one of the best in the league at his position, and that tells you something about the talent we have upfront.
Which makes it all the more curious why Mangini kicked the field goal on 4th and inches on their opening drive from the Seattle three in that pivotal game last year. The jets didn't score again that game. I'm convinced that stupid call by Eric the Dead had much to do with his firing.
Mangini had no confidence in his players....he thought to much... Ryan seems like the kind of guy who is going to tell you he is too stupid to think and just let his players win and lose games.
QUOTE=-[Being with Coach [Bill] Cowher for those years, I am a firm believer that your head coach kind of brings your attitude to your team,”] Sounds a little like he was also taking a veiled shot at Mangini here. No problems w/that.
Pass protection wise, you are right. But he is still a nasty downfield, second level blocker. That's wise he keeps going to the pro bowl. He was a big part of the effective running game last season.
The Jets starting line is very good, but the depth concerns me. We were pretty lucky injury wise across the line last year, hard to believe that will be the case again. We've already heard that Mangold got banged up a bit, and now Leberfeld is reporting that Woody was hurt this morning. Hunter is a nice swing guy, not sure about the others yet...
Jets will have one of the best OL in the NFL this season. They should ground and pound the ball. But somebody has to be a deep threat to keep defenses from stacking the box. Also we need the D to create turnovers.
I loved the Faneca signing then, and I love it now. The guy's won before and he just flat out produces.
I don't ever get worried about TC injuries unless the words 'carted off the practice field' are included in the report. But our lack of OL depth is a very significant problem.
