I WAS gonna knock this trade, but after reading thru the comments and reasoning, I feel that this WAS a smart move
ok this was a BAD trade. the broncos just got JAVON WALKER for a lower pick than ours. bad bad bad trade. we're being way to conservative.
Let me just say that anybody who is saying that this is a good trade because we can now take Kellen Clemens has clearly never seen Clemens play.
OMG. Walker visited Denver for a physical. They were talking about this trade possibility before the draft.
You can talk about the value of the picks all you want but in our situation when we were at 35 the value of the players who were available were much higher then the 35 pick
Agreed. This is a Steeler's or Patriot's caliber move from the Jet's perspective. Trade down for excellent depth and trust in some talent to be there at the lower pick.
Jesus, you should be on their payroll. I stood 100% behind the Ferguson and Mangold picks when everybody was bashing them. Now the first time I disagree with a move I'm all of the sudden anti-Tangini? I've read at least 5 posts saying that we should draft Clemens with the #53 pick. All I'm saying is that it would be a grievous mistake to make that pick.
we could just use those 2 2's next year to trade up in the first next year and maybe get quinn these guys are allways thinking ahead
OMG! shut up! im talking about value here. washington is not going to be bad this year, they're going to have a mid to late second round pick. we traded down for NO VALUE. javon walker is one year removed from the pro bowl. why would we refuse to give up that pick (which is only 3 removed from the FIRST ROUND) for reggie bush and then trade it away essentially for a late second round pick?? bad trade
Jeez some guys are acting like the sky is falling because of this trade, lets see: Chad Jackson, hmm he was a 3rd round pick until he ran his forty, can anybdoy tell me one WR from Florida that has panned out in the NFL? Winston Justice, aside from the fact that we already drafted a LT and a C the guy has serious character concerns LenDale White, huge risk , failed a drug test, no work ethic, failed to workout for teams. Isn't the guy I want on my team. It is a possbility we get him a 53 as well. Quit bashing the trade like we sold the franchise, like what was said before this is Steelers, Patriots move . And don't count on the Redskins being a steller team next year with the much improved Cowboys and Giants in their division. It could always be worse.... imagine if you were a Bills fan?
Actually this season both the Steelers and the Patriots move was to trade up and get a stud wideout but I see your point. My main problem with this deal is that I can't imagine the value at the Redskins second round pick next season even approaching the value of the #35 this year. There were some flat out studs available to us. Touche salesman.
