What do you know of the cop's behavior? Were you there?

While I believe in the "innocent until proven guilty" mantra, the main point is that he pinned the officer. Whether intentional or not, he posed a threat on the road driving. If he meant it, he's got some serious issues that need to be resolved. If it were by mistake, the fact is, he hit the officer. That shows he was wrong in his judgement. Sounds like he pulled a Ko Simpson to me.

Uh-oh. Starks' lawyer is pulling the race card. Saying he was pulled over for being black..and not for having 13 people in a Freightliner and refusing to pull over twice and almost hitting a cop with the truck.

It's a shame when the race card is pulled unjustifiably. It's also a shame when it actually happens. Like any big city Miami has good cops and cops who should never get a badge. I personally have suffered discrimination and I have had family members who have also.

I wasn't at Starks arrest so I couldn't say one way or another. I would racism wasn't a factor. It's probably in the bes interests of everyone involved to get it settled quick. If it goes to trial it'll get messy.

As for urban beach weekend you can google it or here's a link.
http://www.blackbeachweek.com/urbanbeachweek1.html A lot of young people partying in Miami. It's a very diverse city, you wouldn't think it's a problem. I've never gone myself but if i's anything like Calle Ocho then there are probably cop cars everywhere.

I'm necro'ing this thread for a reason. I said before that Starks wouldn't get hit with the felonies and I was proved right. Starks had a cop in the car with him. With a friendly cop testifying on his behalf and the only evidence being the arresting cops word and whatever his dash cam showed they had no case.

This is my problem with cops. If this young man didn't have a friendly cop on his side his career and life could be over on the say so of another cop. I've got a problem with a system like that.

I know this is a Jets board so you guys could care less about Starks but I waited 2 months to be vindicated!

Or, because he had a cop with him, that cop told a white lie to save his ass. Listen, marrying into a police family, I know shit gets tossed out when Joe Blow would be doing time instead.

I agree. It doesn't matter whether he is guilty or innocent. He had a cop speak up for him so he gets out of it. As you said if he'd have been Joe Blow this would have gone all the way. Sad state of our justice system.
