http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/08/jets_rb_shonn_greene_limps_off.html apparently he got run over again today in a blocking drill by Kenwin Cummings, and immediately grabbed his ankle in pain. He hobbled off the field..... yikes... Edit: he has returned to practice and appears ok...
Yea - I just hopped on twitter and he was back in after that happend and had a couple nice runs including a TD.
Do we have to start a thread EVERY time a player rolls on their ankle during practice? Let's save the threads for serious injuries.
scarey situation considering i read somewhere greene has knee issues. lets all hope and pray its minor and nothing more.
well at the time I originally read the article the injury sounded serious, I didnt immediately head to TGG to see if it had been reported yet. So about 20 minutes later i was checking TGG and saw it hadnt been posted, I threw the article up only to find out it was updated that Greene had returned to practice. so again, im sorry for interupting your day with what turned out to be a pointless news story.
it's not that it was a pointless news story. It just that players will get tweaked thru the duration of camp...it's part and parcel. But if an injury is going to get reported...it should be a significant one (e.g. Beanie Wells getting carted off the day he signs his contract) no harm no foul.
I was at the morning practice with my two little ones. i would have love to have seen much more, but they are pretty active. Any way, He got blown up on the drill. I mean scarry blown up. I hope he can learn to block better than that. Also, Leon Washington really impressed me with his blocking ability. For those who don't understand the drill. The blitzer lines up on the line of scrimmage, and the RB lines up about 4 yards back in front of a tackling bag. The blitzer comes full speed unabated, and the blocker is to keep him off the bag. Jones had a good drill also. Greene, not so good.
agreed. I'm glad we passed on him.....he'll probably end up being the "Cadillac Williams" of this draft class.
