32. Whoever wins the New York Jets competition. Fourth-year player Kellen Clemens(notes) and rookie Mark Sanchez(notes) combined for 0 NFL touchdowns last year. 28. Jerricho Cotchery(notes), NY Jets, 27: 71 catches for 858 yards and 5 TDs, 1 100-yard game, 1 multiple-TD game, 9 duds. Finally gets to be No. 1 receiver, but for a team that doesn?t have a QB.
Do you have a link to the article, because if its for fantasy football, its going to be hard to disagree with thier assumptions. Edit: Never mind, found it myself. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_y...lug=ap-fantasyfootball-list&prov=ap&type=lgns Its fantasy football rankings. It is hard to rank the Jets QB's or Receivers high this year. The QB's are very low fantasy value. The Receivers take a hit because of the questions at QB and a supposed run heavy offense. The ranks are spot on ATM. I would not touch Sanchez or Clemens in a one year league. Cotch's value will drop a ton as well.
Flacco and Ryan ,,,zero touchdowns last year. Ravens recievers were not necessarily the TOs of the world. Atlanta perhaps a knotch better So what's his point? Yeh we could use a proven deep threat but please don't sell our QBs short yet. I will say it again, Clemens performance behind our line in 2007 and our bizarre play calling can not be measured. I don't believe that Chad, or Brett or anyone else could have done much better
Yes, but why state that the 2 Jets QBs..one being a rookie..had no TDS? Of course a rookie had no TDs last year.
For Real football I like our team this season. For Fantasy, I'll be staying far away from most of the Jets offense. Keller being the obvious exception. Our Defense/Special teams looks promising fantasy wise as well. You guys are reacting like this is an article based on how the jets will do, this really should have been posted in the fantasy section where it belongs.
Srsly, do you read much of the fantasy reporters or mags. Filled with grammar and spelling errors. These guys are decent at numbers and little else. Of course they point out that no QB on our roster had a TD last year. They Posted the returning stats of every QB from last year. Teams without them listed? Tampa and the Jets. Why, because we do not have a returning Starter from last year. What would you like to type for us? Its not as iff anyone expects either of our guys to put up big time stats.
It's another way of saying that not only do the Jets not have an established QB on the roster, which is true, but they don't even have a QB on the roster who threw a pass in the NFL last year, let alone a TD. I'm a Sanchez fan and I'd like to see the Jets go with him unless he seems totally unprepared. That said, if he doesn't work out we're absolutely screwed moving forward. Any reviewer who looks at the Jets roster and says QB is a current weakness is just telling it like it is. If Sanchez is good then we have no problems. If he is Akili Smith then we're going to be on a Bengals-like run of futility in the near future.
depending on how many people play in our league this year, I might be willing to take Sanchez at the end of the draft on a flier. If he sucks, I'll drop him by week 3 or 4, if not he could be better fantasy-wise than a bunch of guys in the league. You never know...
