Actually there's a very, very good chance he does, they can take Lawson to play OLB in their 3-4 and replace McGinest, or they'll take a WR because they have nothing opposite Branch. I'm sure they're thrilled that they're guaranteed to get one of the recievers.
With the 20th pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs and Herman Edwards select Vinny Testaverde! :lmao:
Yes, it does. He dominated a guy who will be the 1st or 2nd selection by an NFL team today. Ferguson's domination of a major DE talent is a feather in his cap.
My Best Available 1. Chad Jackson, WR, Florida 2. Winston Justice, OT, USC 3. Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio St. 4. DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis 5. Manny Lawson, DE/OLB, NC St. 6. Jimmy Williams, CB, Virginia Tech
How does late 1st, early 2nd translate into 'major DE talent'? Take in the sunshine all you want, but we officially went through the 2005 disaster for NOTHING.
Just came back, so someone else might follow this up, but that is a great point. A "weak arm" is a whole lot less of an issue when you play 8 home games a year in perfect weather. Add a road game in the dome at St. Louis, and road games in Seattle and San Francisco (unlikely to be cold), and it sets up very nicely for him. They're opening a new stadium, and he'll be the marquee guy. And, Phoenix is less than 400 miles from LA, and less then 300 miles from Las Vegas, so I think he'll be able to get his celebrity fix if he wants it.
I see you getting beat up, but I have to say I really do agree with you. After losing Williams, we should have gone with Hawk, or traded down.
