Off topic and I know Raiderjoe is an idiot, but didn't you guys move from 29th rush Defense in 07 to like 8th place last year?

Yeah but he won't talk about that. He only wants to discuss how the Jets went from being a top 10 pass D team, to 29th. Which normally I wouldn't mind discussing. But with a guy who's team went from 5-11 to 6-10...to tell me how much my team stinks...that's just uncalled for.

yeah, that's definetely encouraging to hear. when it's sincere and from someone who is pretty talented as a coach himself, that's always a plus and a sign that Rex is respected in the league.

I have a feeling that the Saints game will be the Jets toughest game during the first 4 weeks of the season and thats because of their Offense.

Their Defense has some talent with players such as Sedric Ellis, Will Smith, Vilma and Scott Fujita but other than that...I'm not impressed with the rest of their D-Line or their secondary and thats the reason why I feel we atleast have a CHANCE against this team, thats because if we plan on being a smash mouth type of rushing football team...I cant see Vilma being able to handle Faneca, Mangold or Moore on the Defensive side of the ball. Jones, Leon and Greene combined could have a field day against their Defense because we all know Vilma is a sideline to sideline type of MLB talent

The Saints, as we all know...Their Offense is simply talented with a top 5 QB in Brees, a solid 1-2 punch out of the backfield with Thomas and Bush, Shockey @ TE with nothing but talent @ the WR position & it all starts with Colston who's like 6'4 with great hands. Moore, Henderson, Meachem and Sklyer Green all have natural talent as well @ the WR position.

THeir O-Line IS below average and thats the only way we have a chance...Is if we can contain their rushing attack and apply pressure to Brees and if not...It could be an ugly game.

hate to say this but c-mon, I mean this team at 1 point last season (after the Titans win) was in all probable cause the best team in the AFC, if not for the falling apart that was the 2nd half of the season we would have been a playoff team last season, so this comes as no surprise imho and added that we have gotten some new faces on the D' this should make us a playoff team

What!!?? The saint's O-line is one of the best in the league!

"Just when you think the Saints' offensive line couldn't possibly go any higher, it does. Over the last four years, the Saints have improved in both pass AND run blocking. No other team in the NFL can say that. Now the Saints have improved themselves to the point they have reached a ceiling, but who knows, maybe after 2009 they will be rated #1 in both categories for 2010. LT Jamal Brown is the headliner of this group having notched two Pro-Bowls in the last three years (he just missed going three for three). The best part about the Saints is that their entire line returns in 2009, so there will be no growing pains or chemistry within the line to have to worry about. This bodes extremely well for QB Drew Brees and the rest of the Saints' offensive skill position players. Draft these players with the added security of knowing they play with a great offensive line." Football Docs

Well, if thats the case...The Jets O-Line has to be the best in all of football if people consider the Saints O-Line anything special just because of a talented LT along with the fact that the have their whole line returning. The Jets have a talented Franchise LT in Ferguson, the Jets have one of the best C's in the game today in Mangold and the Jets also have one of the best LG's in Faneca who's a future HOF player, still only 32. Don't forget about Brandon Moore either, this man can run block with the best RG's out there. We also have all 5 starters coming back.

The Jets ranked 5th in average yards per carry last year, signs of a solid O-Line.

The Saints ranked 21st in average yards per carry last year, far from impressive. They do have a great pass protecting O-Line looking @ the stats so I was wrong about that...I guess their not "Below-Average" on the O-Line but I still don't see anything special with those guys.

About.com/football ranks saints o-line #1 and jets @ 15. Go to a trusted and respected site and see how they rank the beloved jets o-line. IMO, jets o-line is very talented and don't get the national respect they deserve

I have a ton of respect for Sean Payton .. I watched him take the Saints from worst to 1st and be respected as legit contenders in the nfc ... if he likes what Ryan is doing up here .. I would take that as more than just a compliment .. Payton knows football...

I hope the Jets can make some noise this year... I am sick of the Pats and I just dont buy into the Bills hype...TO is winding down his career and I think the Cowgirls got rid of him just in time...I look for him to have a down turn in stats this year...

I watch EVERY Saints Game live.....and I Tivo my Jets games... to argue that the Jets Oline is in any way comparable to the Saints Oline is crazy!! Drew Brees could not throw for 400 yards a game if the line was not great....

I love the jets and I think that brick is a solid start for the jets but this line cant be considered great or even well above average at this point ... I say that as a Jet fan not a Saints fan... and I am sure many on this board will agree with me...

I doubt that. The Saints have an elite pass blocking line, but thier run blocking was sub par last season. Only 13 scaks allowed, good for third in the league, is amazing, but only 4.0 per carry puts them almost in the bottom third of the league. Its a very good line, but not a great one.

Funny how you mention Brick as a solid start when he is not our best lineman. Mangold is and by a big margin. That makes me wonder if your watching those tivo'd Jets games.

The Jets line right now is solid in the Pass game and very good while running the ball. Our biggest problem is depth which really needs to be addressed in the mid rounds next year.

Watch a couple of Saints games this year and tell me that their line is not great..... Brick and Manglod are good but you cant honestly compare the Jets & Saints Oline
