Mangini stayed on message and took the best guy for the biggest need position. Its not a glorified skill position, so some people won't like the pick. Big deal, I don't want flashy draft picks, I want a championship team. Those kind of games are won in the trenches. Our trenches looked more like a latrine last year.

You have a chance to get a once in a lifetime player (Bush) and we can speculate but he was there and we choose not to, Leinart is there, NO If we get a QB later on Like Cutler that may ease the pain but again Leinart is Polished as he played in a pro system all the rest are Projects!
I would have preffered to go for Bush or trade down for an extra pick but taking D"Brick over Leinart was smart.
Well, Bush was not available for the Jets. Leinart probably can't play effectively in Giants Stadium. Left tackle is one of the three most important positions in the NFL, along with DE and QB. So what's the problem?
Half agreed. Nobody can be great behind the O-line we had last year. You still need a great QB to win in this league though. I think now we have the O-line where greatness can be realized though. Great pick.
The thought is, the line never should have been allowed to get to a point where we needed to use a #4 to fix it. We had one of the best lines in the league just 2 years ago, and now we're using a top 5 pick on it. That's what's frustrating. Ferguson is a good pick, it's just upsetting that we ended up in a position where this had to be the choice.

One thing that would make me feel better. Does not picking Leinert have a lot to say about what kind of comeback Chad can make? I mean,does this pretty much say they think he will be back strong?
