I guess the next week, there?ll be a thread that says we shouldn?t have traded up for DRob, cuz if we would have drafted Aso and Polamalu instead, we would have the best Backfield of all time right now.
If you think a young elite pass protecting left tackle is the weak link of our OL..we must be doing pretty damn good. Brick's run blocking is statistically average, while his pass protection is elite. That's all you're looking for out of your left tackle and that's exactly why they're paid the big bucks.
tough thread. Gholston had question marks about his play and his ability to fit into the 3-4 at the combine. I think 7 was a reach for him and came with huge expectations that he wasn't ready for. I wouldn't give up on him, but he certainly has a long way to go. Shoulda...coulda...woulda...but didn't. He will be a project for Ryan.
hey miami puke....so i guess i'm wrong? what's your take jack ass? as usual miami puke and his croonies cant take the truth.
you are right, our line is pretty darn good, although d'brick's pass blocking is not elite in my opinion. i believe he was drafted too high, but i guess mangini and company had to have him. his run blocking is sub-par, but maybe he will continue getting stronger and smarter.
I don't think Brick is elite, either. But that's far from being the weak link of the O-line. I think the reason you think he's the weak link has more to do with the part of this post I bolded than it does with his performance.
going into the draft many of the so called experts were saying he had deficiencies of which i agreed. maybe i should have said he is weaker at his position than other personnel on our line at their positions. do i hold it against d'brick cause our previous coaching staff drafted him? no. could we have waited and drafted a better tackle? yes.
