wow this is a frustrating one. can we please stop with the gholston stuff. reading about him annoys me. i dont check everything i eat or take with my employer and would be quite annoyed if i was forced to. however i can understand where he should have checked. the more disturbing thing is doesnt the 4 game suspension mean that this is actually his second failed test? dont they give the wrist slap and not tell anyone for the first failure? or am i completely wrong and that has changed.
You are correct sir. I am a self proclaimed expert on the subject dealing with players like Williams and David Boston on our roster in years past.

No. For Roid's the first time is a 4 gamer also for any masking supplements. For things like pot they get a wrist slap.
When you get $42 million you should be very conscious of what you put in your body. These dietary supplements are sketchy, always have been
Does (shouldn't) each team have a staffer whose only job is to monitor EVERYTHING the players put (or consider putting) in their system? If not, hasn't that time arrived? That way we can do away with the "I didn't know it was on the banned list" excuse.
Here's hoping Vernon is more of the "gamer" type and plays better in the actual games than he does in practice...
Are we gonna have to start putting behavior clauses in contracts now? Perhaps hire babysitters for guys that can't seem to get it in their heads that everything they do is under scrutiny which includes dietary supplements? This is just carelessness on Pace's part. He should have known better and as such, now he'll miss the first 4 games, all of which are important ones in regards to the '09 Jets. Ryan might want to consider making an example out of Pace and fine his ass some serious money on top of what the League is doing.
If I were you I would think about re-evaluating your opinion of the Dolphins. Miami is quietly building a young deep football team that will be a force in the AFC East in years to come. In one season under Parcells and Ireland we had a ten game swing. The team has already established themselves in the division by drafting well. Kendall Langford and Philip Merling were drafted in year one and both proved their worth. Sean Smith and Vontae Davis will solidify the corner spot in the future. They need to add a NT and ILB during the next draft and the D will be set. Offensively the running game will be tough to hold back this season. I know everyone thinks of the WC as a gimmick but it is here to stay and it proves that the Dolphins are versatile enough to keep teams off balance. It's not a gimmick but a formation that teams must game plan for. The OL is getting stronger, the QB is poised and smart enough to get us to a division title for now. The WR group is extremely under rated because of no solid #1 but in reality do you have to have one. If they feel the need down the road they will get one. The Miami Dolphins are still being built but have already proven to be successful. Tony Sparano is a fiery coach who has the guys playing for him. I would be worried.
Please you guys won that many games because of Chad Pennington..the fact is, Chad is a regular-season winner. When Chad stays healthy, any team is good for a 9-10 win season and a first round loss in the playoffs. If I didn't think the Bills would choke like usual, the Fins will finish last in the East.
that makes sense. i knew i remembered reading that first time offenders were wrist slaps and not made available to the media. it makes sense the way you say it. jh i thought the same thing. his post makes sense though. ace, i agree but it does get absurd with the stuff that they can and cant take. but you are right 42 million dollars would make me a little more willing to check and make sure.... i think, and would love to actually be able to answer the question after being in the situation.
i think we will be fine. rex will come up with something. i still believe that rex made those players in balt. not the other way around
^ I agree with this a lot. In Rex's defensive system, the OLB's aren't the only ones making plays and blitzing the QB. The blitzes can come from anywhere. This will just make Rex tweak around the Defense and hopefully a pass rusher will emerge. Add Pace Week 5 and you can another dimension to the D to catch Eggington off guard. And Pace will return with a vengeance.
I guess. I had a quote on my sig from Rex Ryan talking about inter-changing Murrell and Trusnik at OLB. Granted, it was only up for a day or maybe a few hours, before I ran into this awesome shot of Shonn Greene and I had to put it in as my new sig.
