exactly we are rebuilding why not start with the best possible draft pick for the next 10 years. were not that far off from being at least playoff contender. i mean shit we were only a field goal away from the afc champ. two years ago. so we cant be that bad.
Bush will not play in NO for sure. NO already made hefty investment in Drew Brees AND Deuce McAllister. Picking up Bush means they will deal McAllister, and I have to wonder who the suitor is going to be, because of the hefty contract. I don't know about you guys, but if NO does draft Bush, it will look like (and actually is) a slap in the face for McAllister. Remember, guys, as great as Bush is, he is still a PROSPECT. You just don't piss off your proven starter in favor of this "great" prospect. With this in mind, I would like to think that NO will still pick AJ Hawk. Seriously, picking up Bush does not address the problem they are having against the Falcons - AJ Hawk pick does, and it has instant effect, two games a year.
I voted to stay because the option to trade down isn't there. I've already posted that I would probably take Bush if he fell to 4. I would still rather trade down if he falls to 4 though. GB has to be eyeing Bush right now, and the Jets could demand a king's ransom for the pick. I don't see NO picking Bush. They are saying they will, but that is more than likely just to drive up the price of the pick. The Titans may take him, but I think given all the problems they have had with McNair this offseason, they are taking QB at 3. That leaves Bush in our lap. We can take him if we believe we can make good use of him, but we can also trade the pick to a team just salivating over him. GB will almost surely take him at 5 if given the chance. Honestly GB is the best place for him to go right now. A weak division, with Brett Favre's last hurrah, he is sure to wind up there to help them win now. Anyone else eyeing him will more than likely have to make the deal with us, and we would be in the driver's seat on the demands. Trade down, and get this rebuilding process REALLY underway.
You either like Bush or you don't. Me personally... I love Bush, but we can get him at 4....I BELIEVE!!!
