How much will it take to move up? Would #4 , #29 and next year's 2nd rounder be enough! Do we have any players the Saints might be interested in?
Jets | Saints asking price high for No. 2 Fri, 28 Apr 2006 23:35:35 -0700 Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets are trying to trade up with the New Orleans Saints to the No. 2 spot in the NFL Draft, but the Saints asking price is high. The Saints are asking the Jets for one of two packages, according to an agent who represents one of the draft's top players: The Jets' pick at No. 4, plus their first-round selection at No. 29 and their first-round pick next season or the Jets' pick at No. 4, plus their first-round selection at No. 29, their second-round pick at No. 35 and their second-round pick next season. http://www.kffl.com/hotw/nfl
NO WAY IN HELL thats just insane three number ones what the fuck no one else has the ammunition to sign him like us screw them the have duece lets see them sign another running back to a monster deal
We could completely address the depth and competition on the O-line with the picks that they want for Bush.
No Way! Thanks for the Info. That's way to much to ask. The most I'd give is #4 and our 1st rounder next year or #4, #29 and next year's 2nd rounder! If Bush sticks to his high asking price that's workin in our favour. I'd be fine with either Leinart or Bush and unless the Saints decide to swallow Reggie's fat contract or find someone to trade down we will end up with one of these two studs. We would also keep #29 and #35 which are the real value picks (in terms of price-player quality ratio)! when you have a high draft spot. I remember all the drafts when we were picking in the 10's or 20's to see the first 5 teams watch first round talents fall into their lap (especially OL-not flashy enough for the 1st round)!
heh, ill laugh my ass off if he keeps his high asking price, and so do the saints so everyone backs off, including the saints, and then he falls to possibly our pick at #4
from, what I saw last night, that is way too much just looking at the value chart. with the 4th and 29th picks the jets are roughly 200 points off. adding our first 3rd rounder thid year would go over the value points needed to move up. a second rounder thrown in is wat too much, as it is supposedley the saints were looking for our third rounder this year (#71) I heard, and mangini thought, rightfully that was too mch. Think of it this way, the saints move down two picks! that it, and still get the player they want, because we know they wouldn't go QB and the titans are almost certainly going for one. No other team would allow them to trade down that little amount of picks and get the value they want, we are the only team that can offer that. Trust me the saints would also prefer to trade with teams knowng exactly wha they are getting, not a promised 1st rounder next year. The saints may have the 2nd pick, but we def. hold the market on who the saints would be most willing to trade with, if the saints really want to come away with something, they should take our 2 first rounders, and just be happy.
That's the deal they're giving everyone else, too. Certainly teams like Green Bay, with only one 1st Rounder and too many needs, can't match that with three years worth of picks. Reginald Alfred Bush II will be a New Orleans Saint.
when we traded up 6 spots to get robertson we gave our two number 1's and a fourth and that was only if he was there so no way do we give up both 1's and a third id give them a fourth thats it if we give a 3 they need ot through us some picks
