He's made some Pro Bowls, but at the same time, most people think it was his injury that propelled the Giants to their Super Bowl victory over the Patriots 2 years ago - since Eli Manning didn't have to listen to Shockey yapping his mouth anymore. It didn't help that Shockey was shipped out of town almost immediately after that season ended too. Anyway, looks like Shockey is likely in a bit of trouble again. See, Shockey told the Saints he was going to miss OTAs for "personal reasons." But unless "personal reasons" entails "getting drunk and passing out at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas" then I think the Saints may be a bit pissed off. Sunday afternoon Shockey was found unconscious at about 2pm at Rehab - the name of the Sunday pool party at the Hard Rock. Shockey wound up being taken out via stretcher. There were several other NFL players present at the party. After being treated, Shockey was discharged from the hospital, and word is he was dehydrated - which is fancy speak for he was drunk and out in the sun too long. Now, I don't know why Shockey was specifically at the Hard Rock, and maybe he really did have some personal reasons for being there, like a friend's wedding or something, but right now, it looks like he's getting drunk while his teammates are busting their asses on the football field. Should be a fun time when he gets back to camp......if he isn't traded before then.
