The Saints and the Jets would swap positions, the Jets going from No. 4 to No. 2. New York then would deal the No. 2 choice to the Raiders for receiver Jerry Porter and a package of picks. The Raiders would choose either Leinart or Vince Young. At No. 4, the Saints would take Mario Williams, with the Jets naming Ferguson at No. 7. There's more to it, but that's the crux of it.
joonyd, good point. I just looked at the page, nothing there. There was a ton of other garbage so I only posted the related data but you're correct sir... It's somewhat scewed up.
There's also a rumor floating around about the Jets trading up with Miami. They're saying that if QB J. Cutler falls to us at #16, the Jets / Viking are two teams that may want trade up and take him. That's assuming the Jets don't take Young or Leinart at #4 of course....
This is the "Bongo59" trade that has been talked about all week on JetsInsider.com... like 85 pages of rumors now...
I love that we have all this BS floating around... Houston is done. New Orleans blew it by announcing who they wanted and that they wanted to move down to get him, so they will never be able to get full value in exchange for the #2 pick... unless another team wants to be either careless or generous. The Titans have already said it will be a QB, doesn't matter which one. So the fact that NOBODY knows what the Jets want to do gives us a tremendous amount of value at pick #4, chances are if we trade that pick we will get a butt-load in return... because there are a ton of guys that other team may want to move up for and we have had reported "interest" in just about all of them, so we can play it anyway we want to get the best, most over-the-top offer possible... and if all else fails, we get who we wanted all along!
so we are giving up our lottery pick moving down then giving that lottery pick to the saints? and then all we get in return is Porter and some picks next year hmmm?
the raiders would be so stupid to do this. If they stay at 7 they will still end up with one of the top three qb's. Plus, what will the jets have to give to New Orleans to move up, a second round pick? Im that case, what will the jets get from the raiders in terms of picks. Will it just be trading a second round pick and moving down in the first round to get porter? NO THANK YOU. PLUS, if this trade actually happens, we would have coles, mccareins, porter and cotch....We dont need that many receivers. Only situation i would do this is if, we trade mccareins to new orleans to move up, and we trade down to the raiders for porter. PLay some hardball FO!
