Not really but it looks like we picked the wrong Marion Barber in round two, The current version would have made a nice tandem with Freemen McNeil.

Someone fixed it after I posted the link, it had us taking Mark Sanchez with the 3rd pick, ha ha.

""Maybe failure in the first round is the norm in the NFL, but it's alarming when you look at our top 10 picks vs. our 1st round picks outside of the top 10. There is absolutely no comparison""

Seems like if you investigated further that most NFL teams have a similar record. Everyone knows the first round is a crap shoot, you rolls the dice, you takes your chances. Look at how many undrafted FA make teams, become starters, and in some cases become stars.

""Maybe things have changed. Maybe it is finally the end of "Same ol' Jets..."but we've felt like this before. I hope that Sanchez is the real deal and can lead this team to the promised land, but I don't think many of us would be surprised if he fell flat on his face""

I am suprised if people think he is going to fail. This guy is a natural leader, loves the game, is a hard worker and smart. With the physical skill set he has and his work ethic I would be surprised if he doesn't become a solid starter if not a star. It that work ethic that carries all the other attributes over the top.

""Hey, maybe that's part of the allure of the Jets. Maybe it's fun always being the underdog. I don't know how I would feel if people started hopping on the bandwagon. I don't know how I'd feel if my sense of cynicism was no longer needed when it came to Jets football""

I don't want to be the underdog anymore. I want to win multiple Superbowls, go to the playoffs year in year out. Other teams do it, I want to taste that just once for a nice long stretch.

So someone just realized the Jets have made some bad draft choices over the years? Are we treating this as unexpected insight?

im newbey to this board, so am asking incredulously: there's a pronounced Freeman McNeil hate-club here?? -----what is the case they make against him? Is he not a top 5 all time NYJ RB ?

Freeman MeNeil was a good back.

He took his time getting up after every play and a lot of people thought he was a dog
Not allowed to make short yardage plays... Walton used Hector & Brad Baxter
    Speed dropped off quickly after early injuries;
He wasn't as good as Curtis Martin
I'm not aware of a FM hate-club though

Another disturbing trend: the majority of the Jaguar drivers that I've met recently are raging homosexuals.

    True story.

Exactly. Freeman was an outstanding player for the Jets. I've never heard anyone suggest that he was a bad draft pick. Did the OP ever see him play?

Who decided to dig up this gem?

Looks like Tanny is 2 for 3 on top 10 picks.

Sanchez has improved and hopefully will continue to improve.
Brick is a top 5 LT in the NFL.
Gholston will free up cap space in the offseason, be picked up by a team with a 4-3 and turn into the next Jet's "James Farrior".

And if Sanchez develops a shoulder cuff problem and Kyle Wilson doesn't improve?

Freeman McNeil was a stud. One of my all-time favorite Jets players.
