As both a Cubs and Jets fan, yea, i can imagine it. I'm not calling you an idiot, jsut the pratice of comparing all talent evaluation gruops to the current one by reviewing past results. I look at trends as a statistical review when used in the manner that it looks like it was posted as. Last year did suck. Both our offense and defense fell apart in the last month. Yes that is a bad thing to have to look back on, but a new coach, new QB, and hopeflly new outlook from our players gives one hope. Seems to be way to many negative asswipes around here. Let the Btiching commence after the first play of the season. People need to quit trying to manufacture reasons to not be happy with the current direction of the Jets. We will get enough good reasons soon, not the tripe some assholes blog about.
Very true, however, drafting the right positions and drafting the right players are two different things entirely. 1. Gholston - Bust so far...let's hope that Ryan can light a fire under his ass and get him playing like a #6 pick should be playing. 2. Brick - Hasn't been great, but hasn't been horrible. Is he playing like a #4 pick? In my opinion, not really. In the POA Rankings for OL that someone posted earlier, look at Jake Longs stats...that's how a top 5 LT should look. 3. Sanchez - Drafted to be the franchise QB and being the franchise QB aren't exactly one in the same. Obviously too early to tell.
Jets and Cubs fan??? You must really be a glutton for punishment, ha ha. I'm optimistic going into every season. The pessimism sets in around week 5 or 6, ha ha. I'm hoping this kid is the real deal. Right now, he's doing and saying all the right things. I can see why the FO fell in love with this kid. What's not to like? I'm just hoping his on the field ability matches his off the field likability.
As of this writing, I have only viewed the first two posts in this thread, so I don't know if your question has been answered. I just want to play along here. I figure the odd thing is "Lawrence Maroney" to the Pates at 19. The name of the player they drafted was Brian Holloway. By the way, the RB's first name is spelled Laurence with a u. So that was a mistake on top of a mistake right there.
bro vernon gholston had the worst rookie year i can ever remember a first rounder forget about a top 10 pick have. seriously the WORST, he was worse than guys who didnt even play in their rookie year. when you say shit like that it is way too obvious that you are drinking the kool aid.
Bottom line is the last 4 Super Bowl winning QB's were first round picks. Can't be afraid of failing because it's happened in the past.
psst tannenbaum has been with the jets since 97, i dont know what input he had on robertson, but i would imagine he had some. and since when is he a talent guy? all of a sudden he is the fuckin savior even after last year and anthony schlegel.
bro I didn't say he was gonna be good I said he may. seriously MAY, he may be better than guys who won't play when you say shit like that it is way too obvious that you read like half my post and your head exploded psst, he was an assistant GM and basically a cap guy until he succeeded Terry Bradway as the general manger. I don't know what input he had on robertson, but i would imagine that you really don't either and since when does anthony schlegel matter? all a sudden you mentioned him as a fuckin savior for no reason.....oh and he was a third round pick, not a first or even a second round pick.
hence why i said i dont know. but as an assistant gm i am pretty sure he was involved in some way. even if it was to tell them how cap strapped it would make us to draft a guy at 4. the simple fact you will use even the term may tells me you drink too much of the juice, trust me i read your whole post and there was nothing there that made the post make ANY SENSE. go ahead keep drinking the juice, hope it keeps you happy.
FM is seriously underrated. For one thing he only missed 1/3 of the games, not the half people usually say. Secondly, the reason the Jets record with and without him doesn't have this huge gap is because Johnny Hector is another underrated player. Having a player as good as JH to play when FM was injured kept the team from tanking. If you never saw FM play you won't understand that he was the complete package at RB, size, speed, moves, everything. And Johnny Hector was the freaking balls, even more underrated than Freeman. I would rather have Johnny Hector than Shonn Greene, TJ, Lamont and a bunch of people. Leon Washington and Curtis Martin are the only recent running backs who even have a chance of being as good as Johnny Hector.
Someone put Cakes Fellates as the Miami pick for that year instead of David Overstreet. I have since corrected it.
That was definitely not there when I checked out that link earlier tonight. It seems I have some sort of fan here at TGG.
This is the type of shit why this board is going downhill. What the fuck does that nonsense bring to this board? If you want to make references to sucking cock keep it to yourself and your man lover or take it to the trash talk forum, you fucking faggot. I don't get why it was funny. It was stupid and came out of left field. My guess is it was Firemangini Ed who did it, but I have no clue why.
hehe, it was bold and everything when i looked at it. jumped right out at ya! damn cakes i wouldnt think you would get that pissed about something like that. it wasnt me that did it but i did chuckle when i saw it. itll be ok man there are lots of reasons why its annoying around here other than that.
