I'd be all for Burress, but we'd HAVE to pay him a minimum contract (or a one-year "prove it") just to protect the franchise....the problem with that though is Burress has shown in the past that he can be an asshole if he isn't paid and it might end up being more trouble than its worth.

I think that the best bang-for-the-buck would be Edwards....but he's gotta do something about those hands

$ and Hands seem to be a concern, along with the fact that he'll need a new contract. I don't know how the draft is stacked for the next few seasons with regards to potential #1 receivers, but Burress might be used as a competent stop-gap until that point.

I don't know if this has been answered somewhere else....but what exactly is the status of Burress's leg. I know it wasn't a terrible wound, but do we even know that he's 100% (setting aside any "damage" resulting from a short jail stint)

I don't like the odds of Burress being the same player he was after all of this time off and a bullet wound to the leg. The more time he spends away from the game, the worse those odds get. He would have to work his ass off on his own to maintain that level, and this is a guy that doesn't show up for team functions during the NFL season and gets suspended for it. I would pass on Plax.

His contract status does not make him unsuitable to be viewed as a potential #1 receiver. His hands do, but at least some others here feel he can improve there.

Imo his desire to play elsewhere than where he is can be a leverage point for the Jets. If he can be brought in at a reasonable price, he would serve a I think desperate need, and then Tanny can do what needs to be done to get him under a suitable contract.

This may be the best optoin at this point...

Braylon Edwards. There's not a spark of doubt in my mind.

If the joker on the right , is right , you could be right.

Huh? I think most Jets fans all agree that Mike T has always done a pretty good job.
