With Jones, Leon, and Greene, our running game is gonna be scary this year...

No problem... I've got a million of 'em. What about this one? Once upon a time there was a dog who owned a bone. How's that one?

What about this one? I tied my shoes today. Ha :p

Why is everyone so sure Jones will be traded. He has a contract, with the only leverage being a good year last year, and he is over 30. He is not leaving and Greene is not a sure thing.

I like the Shonn Greene pick a lot, I don't know why anyone would think Thomas Jones is going anywhere. Having a cutback runner like him, a scatback burner like Leon and a bruiser like Greene is a pretty damned cool combo of backs. I think they will work something out with Jones, I think he will be a Jet for another year or two. We've lacked a power runner for the past few years and it has shown.

I'm still a little torn about the philosophy Maddenbaum is going with, where you trade away an entire draft for a couple of quality players instead of traaing into future drafts that are stronger, but he did okay with Revis and to some extent Harris a few years ago, so I'm going to sit and watch for this one.

    Agreed.

That's nothing new, Shotty used Robert Turner as a blocking TE a number of times in 2008.

He will be cut after this year but we can't afford to trade him now. There would be 3 million in dead money if we did. We already took on another 4 million this weekend by trading Coleman.

I mean we have 4 million more in dead money going against this year's cap because of the Coleman trade. That now makes a total of 10.5 million in dead money.

true I say we restructure jones deal by adding maybe 600,000 and he stops bitching, then we may cut him next year.I just really think this years running game will be even better. But on the other hand rb is a position you can fill with a rookie from the get go ,just ask the bears success with forte

i hope jones is a jet..i love the guys work ethic and he has proven that behind a good o-line he can run...trading jones would mean we need to rely on leon and greene...i love leon as a change of pace back and not an every down back..and we cannot put our faith in a guy in greene drafted in the 3rd round...yes leon was a 4th round and he happens to be our best offensive player, but that doesnt happen often...if jones could be traded for a proven big WR maybe i would consider that, but otherwise we need to keep him and def sign leon long term...

worse comes to worse vernon the ghost gholston could play RB if jones is gone...he is about the same size as jones and maybe he'll find his niche on the team at that position

Turner performed quite well in that role too.

Given his lackadaisical attitude, Gholston would probably run the wrong way with the ball :p

Well, Rex says he loves the guy. Hopefully he can turn him around... at least to run the right way!

really!? I thought when you traded someone the other team (in this case the Browns) took all of it's contract and we didn't owe him anything... thanks for the info...

do you guys seriously think jones wont be here this year? has everyone lost their mind to that point?

change of pace back and a rookie will not be the focal point of the team this year. if we trade him they will bring in someone else. however i dont think they can get anyone else that can do the things he can at this point.

shonn green is here to replace tj after next year or the year after that. he is not here to step in as the featured back on day 1.

could you imagine that, a rookie qb and a rookie rb. that could be very ugly with lbs having free shots at the rookie qb.

Just read that Revis chat where REvis blows a lil smoke up Ochocinco's ass and I had a crazy thought: wouldn't it be the irony of ironies if we trade Thomas Jones to the Bengals for Chad, once again reuniting him with Ceddy Benson? Yeah baby, think about it.
