Just heard on ESPN, Jets having discussions with Plaxico Burress. They certainly need a WR, and this would satisfy that entirely.
Plax??? Watching the Draft and Mortensen said they have had discussions with Plax and if he gets clear of the legal trouble could be a Jet.
Chris Mortensen: "Jets have discussed Plaxico" Interested? I'd like to wait it out with his legal issues than I'd consider it. I think he comes with too much baggage though
I think Tannenbaum manages to shoot himself in the foot well enough without Plaxico's help. (that's a joke, people)
All that was said was the Jets have inquired. Nothing is in the works, he may not be eligible at all this season. They've just spoke.
Someone should tell Tanny that the draft is pretty much over....he can stop with the smokescreens. Forget Plax....he's a problem player and horrible teammate.
He should, at the very least, be forced to do a few years....If it were up to me, I'd let him rot in the can...Bringing a loaded weapon into a crowded club is so ridiculous....It isn't like he couldn't afford security if he felt that threatened. The fact he only shot himself is a blessing. But I wouldn't want him on the Jets...This is the guy who proclaimed he was turning over a new leaf, going to be a better person, and then dissapeared to "take his kid to school"...for the whole day...with no contact with the VaGiants...He's a class 1 jerk off...
If he doesn't go to jail he could be an interesting option. Basically he doesn't have the best character. but its not like he is Pac Man either.
I'm all for him. Yet I don't think Bloomberg is going to let him off so easy. He's making an example out of Burress because guns is one of his big platforms. He wants the judge to throw the book at Plax. I hope for selfish reasons that he gets off lightly and joins us. Gives us a 3 dimensional offense that can cause major headaches for opposing defenses.
you can say this because he let his teammates down with his gun fiasco. But all reports out of giant land are that Plax is very well liked by his teammates. His teammates campaigned to bring him back in spite of him having let them down. one teammate liked him so much he was even willing to become an accessory to a crime! I have my doubts that he will ever be an impact player in the nfl again due to the time he will serve. but just in case he ever does - I am glad the Jets name will be in his mind as a team that extended a hand during his darkest hour.
