Well, if you could trade your 2nd for Quinn or Anderson and your 1st and 3rd for Boldin, who the hell do you think you would get better with those 3 picks? Neither Quinn or Anderson is worth a 1st and wouldn't cost that much. Quinn is 2 years closer to a big money contract and Anderson is already getting paid in one.
I'd rather start Erik Ainge than Derek Anderson and Quinn is probably worth a first rounder. Also, Boldin isn't worth a 1st and 3rd imo so I think we could do a lot better.
Quinn barely made the first round when he was drafted..it's now 2 years later and they are trying to dump him..no way is he worth a 1st and Boldin is definitley worth more than any other receiver in the draft so a 1st and 3rd is actually cheap when you look at everybody else out there.
The only guy out there I would want that isn't already on the roster would be Sanchez. However, given we already have 3 guys with no real starting experience on the roster, adding a 4th this year would be totally useless. We may as well roll the dice with Clemens and see what happens. If he develops, wonderful. If not, we draft one in 2010. I like Sanchez and all, and I think in time he'll be the best of this class, but he doesn't overly impress me so much that I'd trade half our draft for him. And, I'm not sure that given a proper chance that Clemens isn't going to be a better QB than him.
My order of preference is: Clemens Quinn (Only if it doesn't involve our first) Ratliff Campbell Freeman Sanchez The only reason Freeman is above Sanchez is because of what it will cost to move up and take Sanchez. Obviously if they both came at the same price, Sanchez would be above Freeman.
If we could get Quinn for a 2nd and Brad Smith, I would do it. They want a first round pick, and a 3rd and Smith is not going to happen. A 2nd and Smith would be a great deal for us, especially if we then trade down in round one to maybe Philly to get another pick back.
I was never a Brady Quinn fan, but it would be hilarious if he got traded to the Jets and became great. Eric Mangini would look like a colossal clown.
I want the team to start Clemens/Ratliff. Campbell is the QB I'd like to have if they wanted to acquire another player before the season.
Stay with Clemens/Ratliff. Take a very good WR or whoever the BPA is that best fits our needs, or trade down.
The Jets are in on every QB that has a heartbeat, anyone who voted to stay with Clemens or Ratliff are out of their freaking minds. The CS/FO has no confidence in the QBs on the roster and clearly are not comfortable banking their futures on them. Every Jets fan on the planet should be praying to the football gods that somehow somewhere we get our next QB tomorrow. Otherwise we are doomed to mediocrity or worse until we do.
