I think that's the bottom line Seafood. As long as it's green and white and doesn't say "Eagles" on it, you shouldn't be ashamed to represent. If anything, Gholston changing to 50 just makes the 56 jerseys sort of a novelty item. If he does happen to turn into a great player, I'm sure the people that have em will be glad they do. You never know when you bet on a rookie.
Everything revolving around a #56 Gholston jersey is a complete failure. I'd rather have a jersey with my name on it--hands down, no questions asked--than that jersey that represents (what we all hope) the lowest point in his career. That jersey is worthless now.
Ain't that the truth...could be parting with cash for a Washington one, if the guy signs. I was really pleased when we drafted Gholston...I hope I'll turn out to be right to be pleased.
That's yet another reason why it's dumb to buy jerseys. I think I've made my opinions well-known on jersey buying. If the guy wants to switch his number back to the number he wore in college, a number he really identifies with, then he has that right. It's not his problem if Joe Fan forked over their money to buy a jersey any more than it would be if the team cut or traded him, making his jersey even more obselete. Don't be pissed at the athlete because you made a poor decision. If you were so gung-ho to wear another man's garment, then it really shouldn't be too much trouble to get the four numeral 6s changed to 0s. Get over it.
