I doubt Ngata will be the pick. Jets might get him if they traded down twice to the 9 or lower. The team has a lot of needs and DT is not high on the list even with the transition to the 3-4. If D-Rob cannot play at a high level in the NFL then the Jet's rebuild is going to take a season or two longer. You can't draft a DT on the 4 pick and then have him wash out and not have it impact the team in a major way.
Well the guy has a questionable engine and takes plays off, no way, the gentle giant can go somewhere else, we alreday have Pouha here
Pouha is 50/50 to be gone in camp. He showed no ability at all to play in the NFL last season and I don't think Mangini is going to give him a roster slot unless he can contribute at a much higher level this year.
Out of all the projected top 10 picks, I think Ngata has the biggest change of busting. I don't know why, but something about him has robertson written all over him. He takes plays off, and has chronic back problems. I'll pass on him, and I honestly think Bunkley may have a brighter future.
let me reiterate, he is a big guy with a questionable motor, I never meant the NT spot belonged to Pouha he is also borderline waste of a roster space if he cannot get meaner and more consistent, Ngata has similar tendencies, there is other guys later in the draft that can play 2 gap and do not have those questions about them
Bunkley is my number 1 DT in the draft. he'll play anywhere from 295-310 in the pro's. and because of his combination of strength and speed, he creates as much push off the snap as someone who weighs even heavier. he's always around the ball and just one of those DL that will demand attention, even as a 3 technique DT. and i do believe he has the ability to play DE in a 3-4, if coached right.
We won't take Ngata unless we trade down a couple spots. I don't think he is as neccessary as a position like guard or DE
