Just on He stated that Titans Flyod Reese was leaning towards Vince Young at #3 although Chow and Fischer want Leinhart... Stated Jets are more intrested in Cutler more than Leinhart Clayton states that the Jets will try to trade with Raiders so that Raiders land Leinhart Jets will get D-brick at #7
That would be unbelieveable. To get a top 5 talent at 7 along with a second rounder would be so impressive. I think that would be a great scenario for the Jets because if they can't strike a deal they can always take Leinart although it doesn't seem like they are too keen on his hollywood dreams.
Thats too good to be true. D'Brick at 7. But couldn't you see it come draft day like the bills trading up to 6 giving like a 3rd rounder to the 49ers and drafting D'Brick one pick before us. Then you head Berman come on and say.. "Your not going to believe this but a cab driver told me they would do this!"
I can't believe we would pass up on Matt Leinart. I know he is a BIT of a risk, but come one...this guys should be a real good QB in the NFL. I will be pretty sick for a long time if we pass on him.
ONLY way I'd take Dabrick is in a trade down.. he's not in Mario Williams class.... and is a bad fit for our line but, I'll take him Ughhhhhhh.
Vince Young I think would be a better fit for the Titans...you don't take a QB just because the offensive coordinator!!! Chow could be gone by next year, and then what??? They would be screwed... Cutler would play a lot better than Leinart in our stadium anyway...Cutler thrives in bad weather... If the Jets get D'Brick at #7 along with another pick, I wouldn't go crazy...I would only hate it if D'Brick was taken at #4 without getting an additional pick...that would be a total waste...as for # 7, we can get either D'Brick, Davis, or Hawk...one of them will be there...and after getting an additional draft pick from Oakland, we can get another solid player as well as having one of the top 7 guys, who all look really good as of right now...
If the FO truly are targeting Brick/Williams, that would be risky. It might be worth it to get another second. But Brick is rated high on many draft boards, I don't think he would make it to 7. That is a tough call, I am not sure I would take that chance.
I can't see why anyone including the Jets would not think the 9'ers and Packers would not take Ferguson. They both could use a stud OL guy to protect their QB's just like us.
i would like to see the jets wait till draftday to make a move. you never know who could fal lto us, that we could miss out on
Exactly nobody knows how high each player is on their draft board. My take is that they have D'Brick and Williams the same. Then you gauge how much a drop off in talent there is if you ended up with Hawk Ngata or Davis, if any at all. Bottom Line if there is a guy at 4 that you'll be killing yourselves if you let get away just take him and be done with it.
I would love to see the Jets trade down 3 spots and get another 2nd or 3rd, but why would the Raiders jump up? The packers and 49ers are not going QB, so why give up a pick and pay more for the same guy you can get at 7, unless someone else is trying to trade up with the GB/SF? Anyway, at 7, we still have a shot at D'Brick/Davis and other guys start to enter the discussion there as well, Huff/Ngata/Bunkley, maybe even Chad Jackson or Cutler.
Hawk appears to be a lock for GB at 5 and Davis would be taken by the 49ers at 6. (nothing is guaranteed but i wouldnt imagine those teams passing on those players, unless GB feels desperate to reach for a WR at 5) i dont want Brick, but getting him at 7 plus a 2nd rder would seem nice. although i still prolly wouldnt want him at 7 sorry i want the best non Brick player available and then to take OL with 2 of the next 3 picks. thats just me though
Because, if you're the Jets you tell the Raiders we're taking Leinart if you do not deal with us.....
it's oakland, thats why. I personally wouldn't make the deal if we get a 3rd instead of a 2nd. Am sure they will do what's best for the team in the end. I am already preparing myself for the boos I will hear when LEINART is there at 4 and we trade the pick, you know it's coming.
I don't have a problem with Cutler, but to make this statement is simply over hyping the guy. What bad weather did Cutler ever thrive in? He played in the SEC. Alabama, Georgia and Florida get occasional rain, but nothing that would be like the Meadowlands in December.
