Is there any overrated, loud mouthed, self-centered piece of shit that someone hasn't suggested we get this off-season yet?
what did the pats give up for moss a 4th rounder? that makes ocho cinco worth no more than a 5th to me. i dont want him no matter what, but anyone who gives up a second for him is getting worked.
I think cause they just wanted to get rid of him! I dont think Cinn would be willing to part with CJ for such a cheap price.
Say what? DHB has absolutely no similarity to Coles in any way. In fact I would say he is the complete opposite type WR that Coles was.
I?d give a 3rd for him for sure. He is also worth a 2nd rounder, but i?m not so sure how long he will stay happy in New York with the first-run offense and no experienced QB. And we don?t need his circus here. So for a 3rd i would give it definitively a try, but for a 2nd i?m divided.
Essentially...we gave up a 5th rounder for Lito Sheppard (and a pick next year, if we decide not to cut him)......and to me, Sheppard is more 10x more valuable to the Jets than Ocho Cinco. If we gave up a 2nd round pick for this guy.....I'd be seriously disappointed.
I don't think he'd be as upset to come here as people make it out to be because it's New York and he'd be on a huge stage. Who really knows if he'd be happy or not. With that being said if the cost is a second round pick I question why the Giants haven't brought him in. Clearly receiver is their HUGE need, and if they could get away with a second rounder for Johnson, then they can address the back 7 with a first round pick. My point is I think physically the shoulder might be a bigger problem then the media knows about, or that any other team is letting on. If Ocho Cinco is healthy, clearly one would trade a second round pick for him. The Jets pick isn't in the top half of the second round, its going to be harder to grab that receiver that fell out of the first. As for him and the Jets, for a second rounder sure I take him. Take Gilbert at 18 trade for Ocho Cinco and that's filling two needs on the first day in slam dunk fashion.
i agree 100% a third or 4th and maybe a depth receiver currently on the roster, but not a 2nd. Were gonna need to score points, and even though Chad Johnson didnt have a productive year last year, he would draw attention. opening up cotchery, keller, and whoever wins the slot role.
With Chad Johnson's supposed shoulder injury, his age, and with his past lockeroom antics....I wouldn't give up more than a 5th rounder for this guy....with escalators of course, because he's still a great player and could produce at a high level.
We definitely need to improve at the WR position before the season starts. Cotchery is not a true #1 WR and we don't really know what we have in Clowney/Stuckey (although what we have seen has all been good). I would maybe trade a conditional pick for him- a 4th rounder which can go as high as a 2nd based on performance (with it most likely being a 3rd rounder)
if we plan to pick a WR in the 1st rd then hell yes we should trade a 2nd for him. no matter about his mouth the man can down right play football.
if we pick a wideout in the first round....it doesn't make sense to trade our 2nd rounder for Johnson....why would the Jets do that? We're not the Detroit Lions....we need other players besides wideouts.
my bad...what i mean if we are looking right now to draft a wr in the 1st rd trade for chad for our 2nd and go somewhere else with our 1 rd pick
