I would do that is a heartbeat but I don't think oakland will trade up unless its for Leinart. They know we are not interested in Vince Young and neither are the packers or the niners.

We could always wait and if Leinart falls and we don't want him than we can pull the trigger

See, thats where Tangini has been doing such a great job. Everyone keeps saying the Jets have no QB, and our entire FO went on a cross country tour and had high profile workouts of the top 3 at the position. If the Raiders buy the smoke screen, they might take a better safe than sorry approach.

If they traded with us to get Young, if the Titans didn't take him, then they could get him at 7 because I don't see us taking him.

In that scenario Oakland actually has the upper hand. They can just wait and if we draft Young than they can make the trade with us and if we don't draft him than they're set. Meanwhile we can't just draft Young and hope Oakland really wants him. Otherwise we could be stuck with Young.

I don't believe this rumour at all. The Raiders may trade up, but this three way trade is totally bogus. I believe the "other" source is the same guy with a different handle or someone who took the rumoour for JI to another site.

I believe the update is that the Jets and Saints are out of it, and the Raiders are dealing directly with Tennessee for the #3 pick. Saints take Mario, Jets take D'Brick.

personaliy im not really concernedr about this. i think this is rather unlikely considering that this article mentions in order for this to go through, SF anf GNB have to be involved also. thats not a three-way trade, thats a five team trade. And i think that it is pretty much a guarnatee that will never happen. just because it seems unlikely for GNB or SF to take Ferguson, doesn't mean they won't, if he's rated as their BPA when they pick, chances are they will take him. Both of them could use o-line help anyway. The only thing I really like about this is that we would stil lbe in the top ten. I don't think we need Jerry Porter, I would rather have a pick, might as well go through another team that wants him, and have a 32 team trade. Unless were getting a trade offer that works really well, even though I wouldn't mind trading down, I don't see the point in this situation, so that way we can help another team?

Thats why the team that trades down to 7 has to be properly compensated, they are taking the risk they don't get the player they want, while the Saints moving from 2 to 4 still get one of the 2 guys they are targeting, that why they should move on the cheap notwithstanding what the value chart moonies will tell you. The 3 way trade can happen as long as Tenn or the Jets are willing to end up with a V Davis or some other player they may not be targeting if GB or SF upset the applecart.

Ugggh. Wasn't part 1 enough? A Part 2 was really necessary?

What's Next, Part 1 vs Part 2 in Part 3?

I would just like to break in and take this opportunity to tell a little story.

In 2000 when I was searching for a decent Jets message board, I resorted to posting on the boards of other teams, in order to find some sort of stimulating discussion about football, and found it more often than not. But every once in a while I would be in the middle of a heated and intelligent debate and this obnoxious fool named Soothsayer would bust into the thread and flame a bunch of people and then spam his website. What a turd.

    Carry on.
