i meant that for the 2nd round, but my point still stands - he's a 4th at the earliest and everyone wants to jump in a round or two earlier.

If he's there in the 3rd and we haven't take a QB yet TAKE HIM.

If this guy stayed at OU he'd be in the conversation for a top 10 overall pick at this point.

SInce we are going in training camp with 3 unproven QB's... we might as well go with 4 and raise the possibility of having a decent player on our team :p

Rhett Bomar sounds too much like Rhett Butler and he too would probably be gone with the wind.

    Just say no to Bomar

I live in Oklahoma and saw the trainwreck first hand. He was the #1 recruit coming out of high school, played very well as a freshman, then he took money from one of the biggest dealerships in Norman for not showing up to work. Got booted immediately, and then he bad mouthed the university for not sticking by him.

The next year, Sam Houston State played a game at Stillwater and he talked shit on OSU. The guy has zero class and a massive ego that goes WAY beyond being cocky. He has been told he is a golden god at every level of football and he actually believes it. He is the T.O. of the incoming QBs. Please don't draft this prick.

Not that I'm comparing him directly, but what you mention about his ego, talking shit, etc could be the very same things said about Elway, Cutler, Rivers, etc. The fact that you say he can play well is all I care about. Don't you think any player that has excellent skills growing up and plays QB is going to have a massive ego? I would say 99% of elite NFL players all have that common trait. Now, if acts like a god and sucks (Jeff George) then that's another story. Bottom line, as a lifelong Jets fan, if the guy can play and deliver us a championship who freakin' cares what his ego is. From the video, granted that's all I know about the guy, take a chance on day 2 and see what happens...

Wait.....wouldn't that mean if they had workouts for 3 other qb's then they don't believe in the 3 qbs we already have?

I just want to go on the record, I am not an OU fan. So my dislike of Bomar comes solely from observing his behavior not from some personal grudge about what he did do OU.

I agree with you that some of the great quarterbacks have that "I can do anything" cocky attitude on the field. It can be an asset in clutch situations.

But that is NOT what Bomar exhibited in his time at OU. All he showed is that he is a selfish little bitch. He put his greed before his teammates and program. He took around $7000. And was willing to risk dooming an entire football program for such a piddly gain. (and for the record, I know that thousands of college athletes have done stupid stuff like this, but he was not even smart enough to get away with it.)

He is saying all the right things now because he wants to get drafted. He has had multiple chances to change and has not done it thus far. You think giving him NFL money will make him mature any faster? Money changes people all right, but rarely for the better.

I think some is just upset that he talked bad about Oklahoma, after they abandoned him.

Not an OU fan here. Far from it as a matter of fact. All those douches that yell "boomer sooner" can lick my balls.

    Nice assumption though.

Multiple chances to change? He was thrown out of Oklahoma after making that huge mistake.

I think his time at Sam Houston State has definitely helped him mature...and so what if he's cocky...he's a fucking quarterback.

Jay Cutler and Phillip Rivers are both cocky as heck but they are both top 10 QBs and help their teams win at any cost. Cant even count the things Cutler has said yet he's been money for a piss poor Broncos team. Same with Rivers.....Heck they both hate each other to death. :rofl2:

Not to say Rhett is either one but you can live with cockiness. TO isnt cocky, he is a distraction to a team.....Big difference there. Most guys in the league have a big ego, its just a matter of it affecting your team or not which is the true point.

Coles is the same way but you speak to 3 out of every 4 Jets fans and they will say they love what this man did for the team overall despite a few seriously questionable things done in his career(Notably his involvement in the scandal back in Florida St along with Warrick)

Coles learned from that and took the banishment he got from the team to stride and learned to not try stuff like that off the field again.

    Funny people
like Bomar who has character issues, but believe Freeman will be a bust and he has nowhere near the issues Bomar has
