I think the average buyer who hasn't owned a sports package like this is probably unaware of the PSL charge. I know I'm only vaguely aware of how it works because I catch a few conversations about it here. Knowing there is this other fee you pay for your tickets, I wouldn't blame anyone for trying to recoup it.. but I still wouldn't pay much more than face value for the tickets myself. But like I said, there is always going to be some situations where the price won't likely affect some folks decisions. If the Jets are winning... I would expect more overpriced tickets to sell. But if the economy continues to suck.. you might have to break out that bbq sauce and cold beers. :)

Not for nothing, but how well do you think this PSL idea is actually going to fly anyway? I used to have 4 seats in sec 132 row 22 which would have cost me $80K in PSL's. That is a year's salary for Joe Fan. Most average fans will realize that, in the long run, they are better off taking a few grand and putting it into an HDTV and home theater setup and watching the games from the comfort of their own home.

From what I hear, they are beginning to get pretty far down the waiting list which is not surprising as I would imagine selling even 1/4 of the PSL's will be a challenge.

And in the current economic environment, Woody can't even count on the corporations gobbling up a bunch of the leftover seats as even Corporate America is hurting right now.

Something tells me theres going to be more than a few empty seats in the new stadium.

This is a ridiculous question. If you are buying PSL' s then you pay for them. You cant pass that cost on to a 3rd party ticket buyer on ebay. I mean you can try, but I doubt it will work that way. You are paying for the right to own the seat, if I buy 2 tix from you I dont get a % of the PSL so why would I pay for an inflated ticket price so you can cover your PSL charge? Doesnt make sense.

This is the point JetsFan1290 wasn't getting, but maybe he finally got it. It's the MARKET. What is a market? It is buyers and sellers reaching a price point where a sale is made.

The market doesn't give a shit about what the seller paid, PSL or otherwise. And on the buyer's side, the market doesn't care about what you can afford. And the market doesn't care about principles, about what is "right or wrong" or about yesterday or tomorrow.

The market price will be whatever a buyer will pay and a seller will sell for, regardless of anything else. That includes a seller wanting to be "reimbursed" for his PSL or a buyer unwilling to pay for the PSL. It's unimportant... doesn't matter one iota.

I'll pay you $10,000 for a seat at the SB if the Jets are playing in it. And I won't pay you $1 for a seat in the last row of the Uppers when the Jets are 0-15 and it's sleeting outside. And those prices have nothing to do with anything other than what I'm willing to pay and what you're willing to sell for.

This is a very good point. But not only will Corporate America pass on the PSLs because many of them are hurting right now, many other companies (even if they are porfitable) will be passing on them because it's just not cool to be spending money on those kinds of perks right now.

Not only that, but many will pass on them because they can... they can use the current economic environment to scale back and curtail those expenses to benefit their bottom line. And they won't have to offer one excuse either. What's and employee going to do, quit his job because last year he got a couple of free Jets tickets and this year they've cut back on them? Hell no!

So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if the Jets are having a VERY difficult time moving these POS PSLs. You gotta love it.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have 4 seats in section 301 and have had them since I was 5 years old (17 years). My dad has passed the tickets over to me and I really don't think I can afford to pay this much money for nosebleeds.

I would liken this scenario to someone having a car and storing it in the garage.

A few years down the road when he is ready to sell, similar used cars are selling for $5000 but this seller wants $7500 because he paid for the house the car was kept in.

You will only get what the market will bear and if anybody thinks they are going to sell those $700 seats for $700 they are totally nuts. They will be lucky to get $100. Playoff games would be different but if you think anybody will pay $700 to watch the Jets play Houston in October you are crazy.
