If we get Holt and end up paying him $6 million for one year, I would have rather just kept Coles. I think we made the right move in letting Coles go, but it doesn't make sense to sign another old guy for the same price.
Lets not forget that Coles is a hit away from a Coma. He maybe younger, but he has taken some serious licks!
I feel the same way. Their offense was pathetic all the way around last year. They had guys on the offensive line that were truck drivers one week, and starting the next. Not to mention, Jackson was out a good amount of time. My only concern with Holt...he wouldn't be playing on a racing track. He would be playing in the swamp of the Meadowlands. Anyone know his numbers away from the dome life?
No more whining (from Coles)! Thank God! If anything, he's a better mentor for the young WR's. He's got an excellent connection with Ellard, and he's pretty damn good to boot!
Don't know if this has been posted , but its official....... KFFL.com Breaking News Rams let go of veteran wideout Holt The St. Louis Rams have announced they have released WR Torry Holt.
Titans tried to work out a trade for him but Holt did not want to restructure so the Titans backed out. There will be other teams interested and Cimini or boland said emphatically the Jets would not be interested a couple of days ago. But never let the facts get in the way.
While Holt would be a definite upgrade to what we have, it's only a short term solution. His days are numbered. I wouldn't mind using our young group of recievers this year and see what we've got.
It would be nice to pick him up, but I think the Jets may be done spending money until the draft (and resigning Leon).
Again guys, don't worry about the facts. Read last paragraph. From Paul Needell at the Star-Ledger The housecleaning by new coach Steve Spagnuolo and GM Billy Devaney has begun. Two days after the Rams cut left tackle Orlando Pace, they have given another future Hall of Famer, wideout Torry Holt, his walking papers. He is now an attractive free agent but willl be 33 in June. We've heard from an NFL executive with knowledge of the Giants' thinking that they have no interest in Holt at the present time. No indication from the Jets yet but rest assured, Jets Nation, our Dave Hutchinson is on it. UPDATED AT 8:52 P.M.: My man Hutch tells me his peeps with the Jets have no designs on Holt.
You seriously want a link to my "strong feeling"? Cause I'd be more than happy to send it to you via PM.
